World Bedwetting Day, Who knew it is a real thing.

@andy1050 @DPCARE @jrpoorman

Ha haa, Good to keep some humor around and remind us that in the end it really is not big deal. Just a little inconvenience from time to time.

exactly I can't say that I like being inconsistent and having to wear diapers I do like having a decent quality diaper so I am not leaking everywhere or suffering all kinds of chafing and skin break down no I don't like wearing diapers I am not one of them ab/dls I do wear diapers 24/7 I do it to maintain my health and quality of life and support all of you ho also have to wear diapers or other protection due to incontinence and bedwetting no I don't like wearing diapers but it has become my normal way of life

@DPCARE yes, quality of life is so important. If wearing protection helps as it does in my case, then so be it. Phil

I'm all for it too! Bedwetting probably happens much more than most people realize or are willing to admit, but the big bugaboo is the stigma that goes with it. After all kids (and adults) don't do it to be difficult but they just can't control it. Part of the value to World Bedwetting Day is the fact it's a medical condition and not really a behavioral issue. The day, I think, heightens awareness that bedwetting is a medical thing. Yes, "it" happened to me occasionally when I was growing up but I just kept moving on!

@billliveshere

Good points Bill. Bedwetting is nothing to be ashamed of and yet culturally we are told to be ashamed of it. It is just a medical condition like so many other medical conditions. I'm happy that I found out that there was a day established to promote bedwetting awareness and I hope it grows as more people are exposed to it.

Thanks, Jaytee. It is nothing to be ashamed of no more than having heart issues or diabetes or a broken leg. But it is sad that our culture has made it such and that has been going on for centuries. I think parents of kids who do wet need to realize their kids aren't doing it on purpose and that it should be checked out by their favorite pediatrician. It seems that publicity about Goodnites has been putting bedwetting awareness out there for public consumption which goes hand-in-hand with Bedwetting Awareness Day. Or maybe a bedwetting awareness week may be called for too!
