sex and incontinence

A 74 Gremlin? They are as rare as hen's teeth these days! :O Do people gawk and stare when you drive by? I still do that if I see someone driving a Smart Car! :D

@billliveshere yes, its not something you drive if you dont have time to chat with a lot of folks about it. I let my dad drive it for a few years and he began to hate it because of all the attention and questions about it.

Hi Ru, is it still mechanically sound? I also like your explanation that it isn't something you drive if you don't have time to chat with a lot of folks about it.:) And like most dads, I'm sure your dad soon got tired of all of the attention it drew!

Gremlins were great! Love that car. I used to have an old Toyota as a kid and had to pop rivet license plates to the floorboard to keep it from being a flintstone’s cartoon car. Loved that old car. Thing is probably still running somewhere. 🙂

If it’s a Toyota, it *is* probably still running somewhere. I wasted a bunch of money on a Subaru ages 16-18. At 18 I bought a Toyota Camry, a 1990 in 1994. I drove it to 267,000 miles with nothing wrong except standard upkeep. In 2002 I bought a 2000 Camry and was driving it until this year when it got totaled by a hit-and-run. It had 250,000 miles and nothing wrong with it. I try to live as immaculately as possible so it looked brand new inside, even though it was light grey and spent a lot of time with my friends and I in dirty, rough mountain and desert wilderness. I miss it every day. Now I’m getting an Avalon at Thanksgiving. I wish I could afford the mpg of a Forerunner because I could really use one for my lifestyle and favorite snow/ice hobbies.

@snow and others:

Just the reason's Scotty Kilmer (You Tube) so highly praises Toyota vehicles.

I'll personally endorse the Avalon; it's my ultimate, reliable 'road toad'.

How did 'Sex and Incontinence' turn to motorheads and cars ??

Andy.

That's what I'd like to know, @Andy1050, how this did sex and incontinence get into cars and motorheads? I liked my orange '73 VW Bug. Didn't even need snow tires since the engine was in back. And for A/C Mother Nature provided that! The heater would heat up by the time I got to where I was going!
When I was on Okinawa I had a tiny little gray Toyota pickup with bars across the back window. It cost only $1 to fill the gas tank and 25 cents for a can of oil, all at the base gas station! Stick shift, of course!

My dad always says his VW Bug was the best off-roading dirt and snow car he ever owned, and he says that after having owned a Land Cruiser, etc.!

Hi Snow, I think that rear-mounted engine made all the difference! It was a surprisingly simple car but you couldn't ask for anything more reliable!

We had a couple vw bugs growing up. They were great except the heater boxes would rust out allot. Great in the snow!

Sex in Cars? Pickups are better! My mother's pink-over-white 2-door Rambler American kept me from getting dates in High School. The front seat folded down to match the back seat. No teenage girl would have been caught dead in it - and her father would have killed me! I accused her of buying that car for that purpose! (She laughed.)

I would have hated to combine that with Incontinence - there was no mention, and no tolerance, in the late 50s/early 60s for incontinence. So, times are better, even if it doesn't seem that way to a newbie. It may be hard to get started, but there seem to be more entries here about success than none.

Hey, great post @AlasSouth! I really guffawed out loud at that! :D A pink and white Rambler American two-door, now there's a chick magnet if there ever was one! :D:D:D And I don't have to look very far to know you mom did have an ulterior motive!
I do remember Ramblers very well. My parents had a couple of them but they were just station wagons and not Americans!
But you are so right, all kidding aside! Back then there just seemed to be no tolerance or even a mention of incontinence. It just wasn't done! :O I guess we're making up for that now on the forum! ;)

My 2006 Honda CR-V with 214,000 miles has seen a few wet spots on both the driver and passenger seats. How that for combining topics?

All interesting. Most first dates I have are here at my home instead of going someplace, I have found the chnaces of sex are extremely higher than going someplace for a date. But if I do have a first date that requires me to provide transportation, I use a 98 Metro. Its a good filter for filtering out someone who is looking for someone to solve there problems that they caused for themselves with bad past decisions by way of using someone elses resources. I do keep it clean and the stereo hopped up. I havent had sex IN a car in several years. But out here in the country, sex outside happens rather often around my place, at least at first until we get complacent.
