Wife's Freudian Slip

I posted this elsewhere on the interwebs, but I was curious if this group had thoughts. Anyone with a significant other do this?

My wife had one heck of a freudian slip recently! My very young niece and nephew are visiting and we were out grabbing some food. I was giving my niece a piggy back ride and my shirt rode up, and out of the blue, my wife remarks "Oh, I can see Uncle CalebKrawdad's diaper". Kids never caught on, but I flashed her a look. Later I asked "What possessed you to say that?", to which she replied, "I have no idea!".

I'm not mad at her, I just figured that this was huge freudian slip. Perhaps my wife thinks about it more than I do at this point? Anyway, no idea, because I rarely wear anything during the day (think airplanes, or places where a restroom would be tough to get to).

Hey Caleb - Being the wife wearing the Depends, thankfully my husband has always been very caring and conscientious about any situation on my behalf. If your wife has always been the same and this particular situation was a first - I would say, give her the benefit of the doubt - because we have ALL been there. Open mouth insert foot. - But I would make it crystal clear that it will NOT happen again. - I am assuming that there is something in her life that she would be equally mortified to have you likewise mention in public. - Pam

I read this a few times, but I am single, so it doesn't fit me. That being said, I have been out a few times by family and have been exposed a few times while in the hospital.

My older sister and mom and the two biggest WTH people for the Slip-up. My mom is a retired special needs teacher, and my sister is currently a special needs teacher.

The last time it happened, my sister was giving me crap for my bag being too heavy. She was watching it while I was on a ride at an amusement park with my niece. My bag had my camera stuff in it, so it was a bit heavier than normal.

My mom is a big one whenever stuff is going wrong. Most of my family knows about my issues, but my mother will talk about it openly when she is on the phone with me; and yeah she always uses speaker phone.

I have had a few funny moments it the hospital.

The big one was when I had a colonoscopy and got stuck reaching for my hat that fell behind the hospital chair.

I had to call for help as my head was stuck against the wall. I was to dizzy to stand up. Well I had my diapered butt sticking out with my pants down as the nurse and my mom walked in.

The last one was just the other week when I got my ultrasound. I had to tell the young tech that I had a diaper on as she had to ultrasound my bladder.

Stuff happens. Sometimes people slip up and have TMI moments at your expense. It sucks but it is part of the life we live.

I always laugh it off there is little I can do about it.

@Pam53 yeah, she hasn’t normally done the stuff in public before. It was just an honest slip up. I’m not actually super mad about it, but we did have a conversation.

@ThatFLGuy I know the feeling, my wife told my mother-in-law early on. I’ve also had the conversations about heavy luggage, especially if we go anywhere for a couple days. It happens! I also sent you a message on the other forum, I saw you mention a couple times that you were photographer. I do a little bit of that as well.
