VA sending double supplies

I just received a double shipment of supplies from the VA and I'm wondering if other Vets have also? I checked the VA's portal but I never requested extras.

That would be nice depending on what it was. I have been dragging my feet about going to the VA for my incontinence

It could get expensive quickly but thankfully the VA has always provided everything that I need. You might have to get an advocate if they do not want to supply you with items that are not in the system.

you could offer the extra supplies to someone in need for the cost of shipping

By any chance are they sending double to keep us out of stores - or stores that are closed, due to the coronavirus?
Nah, surely not. That would mean the Government is thinking.

Good point, I was also wondering if they're forecasting supply issues?

I would put the supply up for future delivery problems or miscommunication of your needs later on.Accept and be grateful!!!

Agreed, I was wondering if other Vets were getting more as well.

VA ic supplies are garbage.

Not at all!

Request whatever you want and if they can't get it go see your "patient advocate" at your local VA hospital (you might have to make an appointment) and the VA will supply whatever you want.
It's easy but be prepared to go in detail why you need what whatever it is you're requesting.

Good luck!

Anyone know if the VA is open for "routine" appointments and visits?
Several medical practices in my neck of the woods aren't, including the hospital that has so many of the specialist practices, even in outlying buildings. Had a post-surgery appointment with my optomatrist, but they won't be open at all, this weekend, maybe Friday, too, and canceling all routine appointments until at least April. I haven't even bothered to go to the VA office in our regular local public hospital - we've been asked not to come to the building for routine matters.
TeleDoc is getting overwhelmed, I'm told.
We just got our first Covid 19 case, but it is on the other end of the road, so far. Boy, all we need is incontinence and a disease that causes a cough....

If you are a veteran and get your incontinence care at the VA then I highly recommend having them provide your necessary supplies. Their formulary isn’t the best options available but give them a try. You have to go through the process. Then when/if they don’t work for you just go in and explain why and tell them what you need that does meet your needs. It is tedious and humbling process but worth it. Bite the bullet to go in and lay it out for them because it will save you a LOT of money over time. I get Confidry 24/7s from VA plus gloves, A&D Ointment and washable/reusable bed pads. They don’t do powder and wipes but you’re pretty well covered.

I did not receive excess supplies but if I were you I’d hold onto them just in case. This is not the time to challenge resupply. Save them for a rainy day...
