Tears of joy… but…

Man O’ MAM! Just saw your responses. This site is largely composed of men with CANCER OF PROSTATE, subsequent prostatectomy, regular (every 6 months) PSA/testosterone blood tests to monitor rises in both signifying rise of cancer cells, possible hormone treatment, e.g., Lupron, with or without radiation, incontinence (urinary & colon) not to mention ED and the multiplicity of treatments including cystoscopies.

This is not to diminish other serious issues that arise herein causing physical distress to members. Information I shared was to clarify areas of your discussion that seemed uninformed and weren’t meant to make you feel a “fool” (your word). Over sensitivity seems to be revealed by your response to advice.

Hope you continue with a healthful! future

@MAM

You say you are going to have an "ablation". I was wondering what method your surgeon is going to use. I had an ablation using the "REZUM" procedure. It was extremely easy and quick; only taking about 5 minutes for the surgeon. No knives or cutting involved!

Briefly, the surgeon uses a small tube that uses steam to destroy the excess prostate tissue. Recovery for me was uneventful, and results improved over time. I suggest that you look it up online to see how it's done.

(I think I have seen ads for similar techniques.)

@MezaJarJarBinks I have been doing my homework all along, and did see a video of an actual ablation being done with the surgeon commenting about what he was doing along the way.
I am not so gun ho about the catheter for at least 24 hours, but at least it will be fixed.

The pre-op paperwork/instructions came in the mail today for my upcoming ablation. It just “got real”… It was all talk/speculation until I got the paperwork. Gulp………
