Stocking up on supplies

Doctors are increasing putting out signs and letters saying they will no longer take Medicare patients. One of mine did so. In spite of the fact I have private insurance. Trouble is, if the doctor doesn't bill Medicare - even if he knows it is something Mecidare doesn't pay for, neither will my insurance.
The paperwork is half the problem. They have to hire a person or pay a billing service just to deal with Medicare.
Indeed we get it. Do you remember Senator Proxmire, Wisconsin? He used to give out Golden Fleece awards for Government Boondoogles. He went back to the era when the parties talked to each other.
Quote from WIKI: he was an aggressive critic of wasteful government spending. He'd get National Publicity for the Golden Fleece awards. Now where is he now when we need him?

Stay safe, everyone, and keep your children safe.

@ThatFLGuy Ya I hear ya. I’ve been using ease e medical in Colorado where I live and getting Prevail Air Overnight that are a cloth backed diaper with wide Velcro tabs that Medicaid covers. I think they do ok. Sometimes the sides rip when your putting one on to make it snug. Also they seem to stretch some out of shape where they’re not as tight but the good thing is they are really good at minimizing diaper rash compared to the hot and sweaty Tranquility ATN that constantly leaves you in diaper rashes or bacterial rash. Of course always good to have diaper rash cream on hand at all times.

Had a question for you guys. I was thinking about switching to a better diaper, North Shore Mega max diapers. You guys who use them, do you find them really hot and sweaty to use along with frequent diaper rashes? I hear they are plastic backed like the tranquility atn I had been using. Thanks

Hi @AlasSouth, I do remember Senator Proxmire and his Golden Fleece Awards!!! If he were still alive and giving out those awards, that's all he would be doing in this day and age!!!! And yes he was back when the two parties actually talked and worked with each other!!! I think this is something very basic that we need now, more than ever!!! Just to get the parties to talk to each other and to stop all of this wasting time finding ways to blame each other. It's ridiculous and unconscionable!
And Fl Guy, it is also unconscionable that your cousin who is so profoundly disabled is only allowed four briefs a day??? And thanks to all of the wasteful spending done by the government on all of the useless and dumb things that they do, people like your cousin and her family have to make do without and live without any dignity let alone real help. I agree that Medicare and Medicaid are really missing the boat by not providing for the basic needs.
I've tried to help get things changed by my vote but everyone keeps voting for the same useless politicians time after time. And we are getting further stuck into this quagmire where everybody feels like second class citizens if they try to contact anyone for government help. I think a function of government is to help the people who are so governed. That's where this country has so missed the boat!!!
And @Sprung87, it is frightening that the largest manufacturer of synthetic fibers in the world are the Koch Brothers. And the are just big enough and mean enough to charge what they please simply because they can.
As a country we have gotten ourselves into so many of these malignant relationships it will take years to unravel them, if that ever can be done.
Well just stay safe everyone, as safe as possible and keep up the good fight!!!

@Chrisindiapers I've used Mega Max and have found that even though they are plastic backed they don't seem as hot to wear as ATN's, and I live in Florida. I think the fact that the padding is so thick that it also wicks away sweat and locks it up too. They have the capacity to easily last me 12+ hours but I do find that much after 8-10 hours they can start to get a bit "rashy".

@Chrisindiapers

Yea I am not the biggest fan of the Northshore MegaMax. Reach out to @justej About them. As for Medicaid paid diapers or pull-ups. From what I found it is all Previal brand or Tranquility ATN here in my area. That is the best they will get you. In the past, I have used ATN but I had to use chuks/underpads as I w would leak through every night so I switched better products. My biggest issue is sleeping 10-12 hours a night. Heck, I just woke up an hour ago and I went to bed at 2am.

It still boggles my mind that our government can spend millions on crazy research in other countries but we cannot get things we need.

IN my personal opinion we need to become more independent as a nation. We used to be, what happen? the business left for cheap labor so China could steal all our tech for their own country. They are still doing it. They couldn't wait until we left Afghanistan so the could move in.

This is so right. Politicians in both parties in conjunction with multinational corporations have sold out our working classes to China and other offshore destinations. In return we get cheap, poor quality consumer goods that don’t last. We also get opioids, porn, and social media to dull our senses and turn us into mindless drones who do nothing but look at screens, consume cheap goods, and fight over whatever table scraps get thrown our way. The politicians keep us divided and turned against each other because their biggest fear is for Americans to wake up and realize what they have done to us. In short, we’re becoming the fat slobs in the movie Wall-E.

@Chrisindiapers hi chris. I use the MegaMax exclusively. I live in DC which is built on a swamp. The humidity here is horrible. My glasses fog up when I step out the door sometimes it’s that bad. I don’t find the MegaMax to be any hotter than any other plastic backed diaper. I just got done doing chores/making and eating dinner and am about to hop in the shower. Just took off my MegaMax which I’ve had on for a few hours and the only wet part was the back of my waist band where my back was sweating. Which is pretty normal for me. I have a guy in Maryland that does all my ordering and bills Medicaid for part of the cost. Medicaid in DC pays .88 cents a diaper and I pay the rest. Which is still expensive but with the MegaMax they last longer. I also get a case of Northshore go supreme for pull ups a month. I use those at home and sit on a chux pad to catch any leaks. It isn’t ideal but it saves money. And I have bowel issues and go several times a day and pull ups are convienent for that

Stay stocked with a couple months supply, but just because I don't want to run out, then have liquid run out and I run out to the store

Shop online. Interesting. Use three different stores for three different products of pull ups. Each has best price on a different product. Not by a ton, but enough to click at to cart.

I've bought in person too from CVS and Walmart, but easier online and dropped at my door.

Also more on the pull up thing. I wear them in the morning to mid afternoon (by then the bowel issues let up) and switch to MegaMax in the late afternoon and evening/overnight. If I’m not having much of a issue with bowels that day I’ll use my back supply of betterdry/crinklz but that doesn’t happen often.

@justej hey cool can you email me the info for that guy that bills Medicaid? ccannon197@gmail.com I think I’d like to get those next month. Not this month but the one after. I got a couple of samples coming in the mail in the next few days.

@Chrisindiapers unfortunately he only works with DC and Maryland Medicaid. You’ll have to find someone close to you that bills them and go through them.
