Protection

Hi there,

so.. in March I will be starting my residency (the medical specialization). And the first year I will be working in a COVID hospital. I have some friends working there and most of them are going through some kind of depression because of the current situation.

My therapist asked me last week if I had thought about how I was going to handle my incontinence during this period, since there is less chance to go to the toilet frequently (because of the equipment and everything). Plus my accidents are quite related to my feelings... for example when I feel nervous or sad everything gets worse.

And I haven't thought on anything, it scares me to think that I might not be able to go to the restroom and have an accident in front of many people.

I might come back to taking Detrusitol, but I am still not sure about it... I would like to take everything into account... Any advice?

How heavy are your accidents and what protection is available o youin Mexico?
Don't know if you can access Amazon.com o say Northshore medical supply but that would give you a broad range of product.
Given that I dont know perhaps experimenting with different thickness of menstrual pads?

Northshore is a great place to get help. I have constant incontinence and I am always afraid that I will have an accident. So far I have had good luck using diapers. Its not fun, but I think you can get through this. Another thing,I am open with pretty much everyone I have to be around about my situation and have yet to have anyone react negatively. Im 70 years old and I try to lead by example. Most younger people have great respect for how I live my life. Stay positive!!!

I wonder if the Americans with Disabilities Act would offer you protection so that you could use the toilet as often as you need, with no negative consequences.

Hi @checmec, I go along with the advice to contact North Shore but it may be more expedient to try to find a local medical supply place in Mexico. I think you might want to try wearing pull-up type absorbent underwear as they are pretty discreet and can handle sudden urge incontinence. Or if that doesn't quite do it, then the tape-on type of diaper which, depending on what type of "street clothes" you wear may also be reasonably discreet.
Good for you for starting your residency in March and best wishes for that!!! :D

Checmec, you have heard me more often, and others here have too. I was amazed, as were the professional care specialists at how fast I stopped soaking pull ups and pads post radical prostectomy. (I am 3 months post surgery now) I used to just not go anywhere, to now I go everywhere. I give the credit to the Prostagenix product, and I do not own the company. Taking it let both my wife and myself, sleep thru the night pre surgery, and since she doesn't have a prostate (and never did) After surgery I was stunned as with no prostate, how is it going to work for me now? Well it did, and it does, and all you have to do is try it. No prescription, all natural. and it works. I dont want to have an accident in public either, and I prepare for that with smaller and smaller Depend products. I am waiting to hear from someone else who finds this product was as big a help to them as it was to me. I almost feel human again. Sure Glad I tried it. I was sleeping thru the night at 3 weeks post surgery and waking up dry. If you try it and it does nothing, i need to know, and I will shut up.

Hi, ups sorry I didn't give much information.. but I am a female and I live in the north of Mexico so almost everything from the USA can be found here where I live.

I have mixed urinary incontinence, in a normal day I have small leaks, but if it happens that I have too much water or laugh or cry, etc... well sometimes I cant help it and my bladder continues to contract till everything is out :S

I would like something that could be easily changed so that I can change the pad during the shifts. I am not sure if absorbent undareware can be used for so long as a 12-24 shift?

Are there any brands that maybe more confortable? discrete?

I must have not seen your posts on the PROSTAGENIX?
Could you write a new post on what it is how to acquire it and title it something like:
Product that has worked for incontinence for me!
I'm willing to bet that us non prostate people (women) might skip just a few posts relating to prostates lol

@checmec One thing I did for a long day of doctor visits, is layer my pullups (3 pullups one over the other like wear 3 pair of underwear) and used scissors to cut the innermost pullup out so that I did not have to pull off my pants and shoes in a public bathroom.

@checmec,
Hi there. Hope your week is going well so far. Call Northshore and see what they recommend. I can tell you that they make decent pull up underwear. I leak pretty heavy at times and they have done good for me at work. What some people do is to also use a poise pad or a baby diaper inside the pull-up. Don’t remove the adhesive strip, just place it in the center or best part of the pull-up and then, pull it up so it’s snug and comfy.
If you don’t remove the backing for the pad inside your pull-up. When it’s wet and you have a break you can just slide out the inner pad and toss it. And replace it or you can still use the dry pull-up for the rest of the day.
This setup also protects your pants from leaks as the pull-up provides a second layer of protection if the inside pad leaks.
Give it a try and see if it works for you.
Have a great rest of the week!

You probably won't. The person I spoke to from Prostegenics on another matter, said that Women were not their target market. All I know is that it works for me, (and my wife) If one woman subscriber on this finds the relief the both of us here have gained, I don't care what the site says or doesn't say, unless it is an outright lie. I think they have something here that will truly be beneficial to people facing loss of continence because of a radical prostectomy, because I certainly did. It worked for me before the operation, and it worked for me afterword (and that was HUGE)

Its great it helps your wife as well a d glad you brought this up
Congratulations on your own relief too!

My wife gets the credit for getting this product for me in the first place, and double credit for pushing me to try it post surgery. (I distinctly remember me saying "how is this going to work for me now? I don't have a prostate gland any more!" That's when I found out she had been raiding my stash of protagenics for herself, when she told me, she didn't have a prostate either lol and it worked for her. You do have to give it some time to work initially, but its effectiveness has made me a believer.
