New to the forum

A woman, presumably intoxicated and/or cuckoo, once yelled at me on a bus, “Are you earring Depends? She is, she’s wearing a diaper!” She must have seen the waistband or something. Then it got me to thinking, how does *she* know what they look like?

Well @Tim,. I'm going to need to check out the next FedEx truck I see. After all there are plenty of them around where I am. Now I'm really curious and I'll have go into town tomorrow to see if there are any FedEx trucks around! Absolutely, positively has to get there and all that!
@Pmikula, you're entirely welcome. Like I said, if you were in line in front of me, I'd probably be more concerned about making sure I make that credit card payment on the date it's due and not forgetting it until the day after! Now that is really concerning!!!:O

@Tim, Yeah!!! :D Now I'll never look at another FedEx logo the same way again!!! I wonder if anyone ever pointed that out to the FedEx execs??? :O And your analogy is perfect. If you don't point out your diaper then no one else will see it either, just like with that logo. Makes perfect sense to me!;)
@Snow, that woman on the bus surely has first-hand knowledge with Depends if she knew what she was seeing. She may use them herself! Of course a lot of people these days do wear them.

@billliveshere I’m a font and logo geek - I even watch documentaries about fonts - so I researched the FedEx logo last night. Management hired the ad agency and Creative Director to include the arrow in their logo. The font is a clever combination of two other fonts, and similar to the best-selling font of all-time, Helvetica. It’s used by almost every brand. Oh, how I love Helvetica!!!

Here’s the FedEx logo story:

My all-time favorite logo is the BMW logo. BMW originally manufactured airplanes, for quite a while before they started making cars. So the logo is the view through an airplane propeller as it’s starting up - blue for the sky, white for the propellor blades - bloody genius!!!

Well @snow, I always like to say you learn something new each day! And today is no exception! That was really interesting to read how the FedEx logo came into being, especially since we on this forum do depend a lot of FedEx, as well as UPS, of course!:D From reading your post it seems like you know a lot about graphic arts which is fascinating. I really enjoy the creativity that goes along with that. I'm glad to get to learn about some of the interests and passions of people on this forum. And that info about BMW, well, really something startling! I absolutely did not know they used to make airplanes. I am kind of an "av geek," although admittedly more with airlines, airliners etc. And admittedly I'm not all that well versed about the older German planes! But looking at that logo closely, I can just see a two-bladed prop just starting as the sunlight catches the blades. Now I'll never look at another BMW the same way again!:D
