New to bladder issues

I am so glad I found this forum. I had some issues as a child but mostly from a small bladder. My parents couldn’t pass an exit while on a road trip. Now I’m in my early 50’s and suddenly started wetting the bed. Went to the Dr. and we decided to give it a few weeks after talking it over. The stress during that time was crazy. I was peeing the bed 3-4 nights a week and leaking through everything. Can’t find the real thick diapers in stores so I had to order online. I ordered too small twice and got very frustrated. All my thoughts were consumed by my problem. I was feeling pretty embarrassed or shameful that as soon as I got home from work I wanted to put a diaper on to reduce my anxiety. My wife suggested wearing a brief to work and honestly, it has really helped. Nobody can tell and I have had a couple daytime accidents since my Dr. put me on an over active bladder medication. Hopefully that subsides after a few days. My wife has been great and my Dr. has really tried to assure me we will get through this. I never thought about how stressful this problem could be. Also, on the love life side of things, it’s hard to want to initiate intimacy when I don’t feel so sexy wrapped up in a diaper. On a lighter note, I went bowling a few nights ago while wearing a brief. I just kept thinking about the Depends add that keeps popping up on my feeds with a guy bowling.

I started wetting the bed at 60 and I wear a diaper to bed. I’m not embarrassed or shameful because it’s part of aging. Meds didn’t work for me. I currently use depends because I don’t wet much. The company “In Control”makes a very thick diaper the holds 12000 ml and works well when I need it. Accept your condition and keep living life. Stay popsicle and the people on this forum are very honest, caring and helpful. Keep me informed of your situation as I can share more.

I appreciate your feedback. I’m a week into wearing depends style protection daily and it has been so calming. It has been great to find this community of people dealing with similar issues.
