Nervous

So im headed to an animal rights conference and im super nervous. This is my first time away from home for an extended period of time since my amputation surgery. I know there are no single stall bathrooms at the hotel. Ill be sharing my room with a friend who knows of my incontinence. I plan on using both pull ups and diapers. We will see how this all works out

Hope you enjoy the conference and time with your friend.
Have a great weekend. Good to hear you on the board more.

Jim

It occurrs to me rhat a suction to the wall removable handle in the shower could be helpful for standing and bathing.
I got one at Home Depot or Lowes

The suction cup safety rails work pretty good. At the new condo they already installed the chrome bars but I got a couple of the suction cup ones for the house. Good thinking MayMay

I like that i can unsnap and pack to take to hotels of family houses that dont have walk in showers.
They are very sturdy support

Thats right Pete, it is so heartening to hear of people here bravely getting on with life! One cant help but wish each friend well as our difficulties are on top of incontinence

I hope that you have reserved a handicapped-accessible room at the hotel. My husband has mobility impairments (he uses a wheelchair, and,for very short distances, a walker), and we always manage to book a suitable room when we stay at a hotel: just indicate what you need (roll-in shower? grab bars around toilet? shower chair?) when you make your reservation. We have found that the Marriott hotels are the best designed, although even they have their "glitches" sometimes. Unfortunately, no hotel seems to have heard of a transfer bench.

@justej

Bro, you got this. In the time we have chatted I know you are strong and able. Wear the protection you need and support your cause. You are a force to be confronted and those that do will fall.

I hope you are able to be confident and that you have an excellent time at your conference! I am a kitten bottle feeder and also foster dogs. I do hospice fostering of small dogs. So good work there!

How cool so many animal lovers here!
I cant help but think being incontinent makes one more cimpassionate on a deep level as we can relate to being vulnerable.
Also hard to be mad at incontinent pet...

I am an animal lover myself especially dogs I have a 1 1/2-year-old black lab who is a service dog in training and I do support animal rights but some animal rights especially PETA go way too far to extremes and I cannot support a group like that
