[Wet-Again]

Tonight was interesting. I am new to being incontinent. I realized the pullup style 'underwear' was not cutting it, so I purchased a package of adult diapers.

This afternoon, I tossed my pull-up, took a nice shower, and put on my diaper. It felt nice. I felt good. I did not realize how fleeting that moment would be.

We had purchased tickets to see a show, so we needed to pickup the tickets. I peed in the diaper before we left the condo, so I thought I would be okay. Boy, was I wrong!

We picked up the tickets, and I reached a point where I knew I needed to go, but I didn't want to do it in front of everyone. So, I held it until we were done. When I finally used the restroom, I exceeded to absorbency capabilities of the diaper and I was wet. Fortunately, I was wearing black sweat pants, but it was uncomfortable.

We went to get dinner. I am sitting in wet clothing. At the end of dinner, I think, I better go before we go to this activity, so I go in the restroom and go. I am still wet, but it seems to be 'okay.

We go to the activity. I'm on the bus and I know I have to go. So I walked to the car as if I am looking for something, and went again. I am sitting on the vinyl seat and my entire bottom is soaked. We reached our intermediate destination... and I am walking around in my soaked diaper and clothes. Finally, the activity was over and I could change out of my wet diaper.

Looking at the front of the diaper, all of the filling in the front had relocated to the crotch area. I was not expecting that. Obviously, some of it had to be the force of my urine hitting the filling, but I wasn't expecting everything to head south.

I am sure I will have other experiences similar to this. I know I need to put together a 'change' bag. I have a lot to learn about being incontinent.

Sounds to me like you need try some different and more absorbent diapers/nappies until you find the right one to cope with your level of incontinence and give you the confidence to go out and live life without fear of leaks. I lost bladder control as a result of a spinal injury and where adult nappies 24/7. I have no feeling of needing to wee or actually weeing other than feeling my nappy get wet. For years I wore the Tena Slip Maxi Active Fit adult nappies which I get supplied by the NHS but these were recently changed to ID Slip which are very absorbent. I check how wet I am regularly and change when necessary, on average around every 3/4 hours. If we’re going out my wife will also check that I have put a dry nappy on beforehand. I also take spare nappies with me if I’m going to be out for any length of time in case I need to change when away from home. Now my nappies are just part of my everyday and night clothing. I don’t even think about the fact I’m wearing them and they give me the freedom to live a pretty normal and active life.

You are so lucky to have some control wish I had this at least my body would be able to make some effort to get to a toilet to reduce the impact on my diaper. The other thing I have is a go bag with fresh diapers, clothes wide variety of cream, spare diaper cover should the diaper leak (plastic/PUL). In those situations when I attend a concert for example where a go bag is not allowed I add in a booster pad to my diaper/cover mix to last the concert before reaching my go bag in the car. One of the mistakes people make is to stop drinking before going out this makes the urine more concentrated.
