Mattress protectos

As a lifelong bedwetter, I’ve always dealt with a level of shame because of my need for diapers, but I was also ashamed of the loud mattress protector on my bed, especially when friends came over. They would sit on my bed and know it was there. The funny thing was that a few of my friends had them too, though they said it had nothing to do with bedwetting.years later, I still use one in case of leaks. Does anyone else still use them? I go with the cheaper ones, even if I have to change them every few months.

Yes, I don’t dare sleeping without a waterproof mattress protector. It is less crinkly than the one I used in the past. I had the same feeling of humiliation if someone were seated in my bed…

I always grab a mattress protector when we get a new mattress, or they wear out. The new ones are waterproof and can offer levels of padding. Mattresses are too expensive, and a lot of warranties don't apply if the mattress is stained.

I wet the bed until I was 14 and in addition to still being Terry/cloth nappies and waterproof pants. I definitely had one as a child/teen both at boarding school and at home.

My bladder problems started again in my mid-20s following a spinal injury, initially just at night, and again I then had a plastic/waterproof sheet Ito protect the mattress and was back to wearing nappies at night, although I am glad to say these were disposable adult nappies not cloth as before. I had to come clean to a friend about meeting the bed after she sat on the edge of my bed one time and heard the crinkly plastic sheet and lifted the duvet. As my sheets were in the wash, all that was visible was the waterproof mattress protector and she asked me why I had it. Very embarrassing at the time!

I use a waterproof bedwetter pad that I got off of Amazon. It is full length and just wide enough for my side of the bed. I put it on top of the fitted sheet on my side of the bed and if I bedwet I just need to wash the bedwetter pad, top sheet and my sleep clothes. My wife's side of the bed and under where I am sleeping stays dry. Makes wet mornings an easy clean up. For extra security we do have a quilted waterproof mattress pad covering the whole mattress on under the fitted sheet.

Here is the info on what I got it off of Amazon and it was made by RMS, look for

RMS Ultra Soft 4-Layer Washable and Reusable Incontinence Bed Pad - Waterproof Bed Pads, 34"X72"

It is really soft, cool and not hot or noisy like sleeping with a crinkly plastic protector. I'd recomdent to give it a try.

The ones they make today do not make much noise. Both my wife and I are glad it is on our mattress. I wear diapers and plastic pants at night as I wet myself in my sleep.
