Incontinence after trans urethral prostatectomy with laser

Hi Gazaher. If you would look at some topics in the forum . This concern and the other one about ED have been discussed extensively. In general, incontinence post operatively can take anywhere from improvement from 2 months to even up to a year or more as what our members experience. You might have to go through 3 phases: acute one up to 3 months; then sub acute phase: 3-6 months and the chronic phase which is from 6 months to a year or beyond . A common advice is to do your Kegels exercise religiously even through lazy moments and frustrating moods and keep a positive attitude. Welcome to our journey!!

Yes, agree with all of that. There’s no quick fix after an RP. The first 4 to 6 weeks will be depressing, and you’ll be getting through lots of heavy duty pads, but you should see a very gradual improvement by 3 t 6 months when you may only need one lightweight pad per day. It’s essential that you keep doing regular sets of kegels 3 or 4 times a day.
