Erectile Disfunction Problem (ED)

Hello everyone

I am post op day 5. I still have catheter in place and significant abd wall pain. I have noticed quite a bit of penile retraction. My doctors said to expect about a 1/2inch but this looks worse. Could it be from swelling? I am a little freaked out here. Any insite from you guys would really help.

You need to wait at least a month before you think about this. I had a period of time after RP when my penis disappeared into my testicles. Things will get better and I wish you success with your recovery.

@VAC55 You are going to go through a lot of ups and downs during the next weeks and months. Pace your self and don’t get overwhelmed by any one thing too easily. You will recover from the major surgery you just experienced. Your body needs time. Did your Dr tell you the results of the biopsy? Are they doing a genetic test on it, to determine any further action? Be patient with your recovery and stay positive.

Still await pathology results. I am a bit high strung. My initial biopsy for three lesions was gleason 6. I was offered observation but I would just worry the entire time and elected to have robotic prostatectomy.

Hoping it will be good news and no upgrade when I am seen friday.

@Dewibach1 I’ve been on this forum for at least seven years. I’ve read a lot of posts about penile retraction. Most of them discussed several inches of retraction. Surgeons rarely tell you the whole truth about recovery before doing a procedure because they know if they do, you will never actually go through with the procedure.

Over the past nine months I’ve been consulting with seven different orthopedic surgeons for knee and hip replacements. Not one of them has told me the entire truth, but from the combination of the seven of them, plus a class I had to take, I think I have a good idea of what recovery will be like. But if I’d only ever seen one of those doctors, I wouldn’t have nearly the amount of information that I have now by having seen seven of them. I can’t believe the things that some of them lead out and their description of recovery. In my opinion with holding information is equivalent to lying and being manipulative.

Always read online reviews by patients and information on forums like this to get the real truth about what to expect before going through with a surgical procedure.

Just for reassurance I had RP over two years ago and no retraction at all. But I still have quite a bit of incontinence to manage. One thing I have learned in this journey is that there are no guarantees and everyone'experience is different. That's just the nature of medical procedures and treatments. You can only gain a certain amount from all the statistics that are quoted

About half an inch loss is about right. Only thing I really noticed is when I used. To go more my penis hung down and pee went into bowl easily but now it tends to pee a but higher and sometimes splashes me and out of the bowl just under the seat…..what a shock that was. So now I have to push it downwards when I go for a pee.

I experienced climaturia once and since then I always empty my bladder before love making and haven't had the problem since. Some people suggest using a condom.
