Hi Dean, Forum style may be a good approach especially since I will be doing it by computer. I don't have a smart phone, by the way. But who's to say it won't happen.....someday! And this computer is at least seven years old so I'm not a "techie" by any stretch of the imagination!
I think $10 a month is very reasonable to begin with, maybe approach it with "If you sign up by such and such a date." After which the fee increases to whatever you decide. And of course members would need to know how they can pay. Most online services like dating services etc., of course do credit and/or debit cards but setting up for those is something to seriously consider as well and you'd need expert advice on how to do that.
I think it's a good idea to have other disabilities included other than incontinence (and anything related to that) because you do want to get a wider membership base. If the site ends up with let's say two members in Texas or California, or even Florida, and each member lives at opposite ends of the state that probably wouldn't work out because I wouldn't want to have to buy a plane ticket just to go on a date with somebody!
But those are just a few very random thoughts!

i'm going to start a forum-style dating site and MAYBE have something together for the end of next week. Maybe.

here's what i'm thinking of in terms of membership fees. Since it will take a while to build it up where we have an abundance of members and a decent selection in all the major areas to choose from, the monthly fee needs to be low. However, it needs to be high enough for me to afford to spend the time needed on it. So, if anyone here would be willing to join, i think $10/month would be reasonable.

if you were to join this month, you would be locked into that price for one full year after the price increases to the typical monthly membership of other dating sites. this mean that if growth is slow the price will stay low for longer.

sound good?

what categories would you like to see / suggest?

I think this is a wonderful idea. Maybe offer 3 or 6 month terms too. I wouldn't be interested right now but I would certainly love to make a donation when your site is up. Is it possible to make a donation option on the site?

Thanks for the efforts on this Dean. I think it will be great to have for those of us dealing with this. That said, after reading the replies here and thinking it over I opened a account on a popular dating app and the plan is to just be upfront. After we have talked for a bit and gotten comfortable with one another, my plan would be to disclose it before the first in person meeting. This serves two purposes. It establishes that I am open and honest and it also eliminates potential risk of being questioned or secretly judged by a date who happens to wonder about potential bulk or noise.

Hi @DeanLikesToHelp, I think the terms you propose are most reasonable! And for NAFC members to get locked into for a year for $10 it's a real bargain! Such a deal! We need to know how we can pay and get something in writing that shows we are enrolled in this. All th\hat said, go for it!!!

Thanks for the input everyone! I'm going to try to make some headway on this before next weekend. I plan to create what I can and hopefully keep it smartphone friendly through the browser. Get that together and build the membership while I delve into an even better version with an app as well.

As far as payment, if you're local in AZ we can work something interesting out, wink* lol. But seriously, I would set up recurring payment via PayPal. That would be most secure fore everyone.

Well that sounds good @DeanLikesToHelp! We'll be looking forward to it. I did have a PayPal account at one time some years ago and hopefully I can get it reactivated! Now how do I get these squawking chickens off my hands???
