I know that later in the day, my body gets tired and I have more leaks and more frequent restroom visits at night.
Definitely ask your doctor. Maybe someone else on here has had first hand experience... but here are some other things I found quickly.
Elevated amounts of urine production that occurs only at night can happen when fluid intake goes up at night. It can also occur when peripheral edema — swelling or fluid accumulation in the legs — relocates after a person moves into a sitting or lying position.

I think with more intake and possibly with it being hotter these days, your body is retaining more during the day and releasing more during the evening/at night, but...I am not a Dr, don't play one on TV and did NOT even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so...
Coexisting medical problems can contribute to peripheral edema and raise the risk of nocturnal polyuria.
Here is something that I read recently that may help: Compression socks or stockings - helps to reduce swelling and fluid retention during the day...I know what you are describing is not nocturia, per se, but is similar.
Where does the excess fluids go when wearing compression stockings?
I have edmema, most likely caused by my beta blocker. If I wear the compression stockings (knee highs), where does the fluids go? It doesn't really get rid of fluids, just spreads it more evenly?

"When wearing compression stockings, tissue fluid is picked up by the lymphatic circulation and returned to the blood stream."

"To control swelling, compression hose are best applied in the morning, before getting out of bed. This is when the swelling is at its least. Therefore, by applying the hose at this time, the fluid cannot build up during the day. If you have swelling in the thigh area when wearing knee-length hose, you may want to be measure and fitted for a thigh-length hose to reduce this. Prevention of the swelling is the key. You should also mention this to your doctor and possibly have your lymph drainage problems evaluated."

"Compression hose helps the fluid stay out of your legs. Put simply, the fluid basically returns back to your heart as it should."

"You should elevate the legs at night and wear compression hose in the daytime. Application is best in the morning, as soon as you wake. This way the legs do not get a chance to swell and whatever swelling there is, should be returned to your circulation. Beta blockers normally do not cause a great deal of swelling."
