Bed wetting associated with dreams about going to the bathroom

Not necessarily. You're just acting out your dreams. If it continues, seek out a doctor's advice. I often have dreams of me wearing diapers and plastic pants in public and no one bats an eye. I wear diapers and plastic pants for my bedwetting. I rarely wear during the day, unless I don't have immediate access to a toilet. Hope this helps.

I found some posts on here that answered my question. The one and only time I found the courage to talk to someone about this (with a counselor) it was glossed over and never talked about again. That was about 15 years ago. I’ve had this issue almost my whole life. 60 years. Finding this group today has been an answer to prayer. I no longer feel like a freak who was hopeless. I’m not the only one who suffers from this. 🥺

It’s common, but the peeing in reality dictates the peeing in your dream. Ask any brain neurologist.

Hi Snow. My dreams have always been about finding a bathroom because I needed to go. I’ve even told myself that this is a dream you need to wake up. I’ve even pinched myself in my dream while sitting on the toilet to make sure i wasn’t asleep. Then after passing the pinch test I start to releave myself as the toilet starts overflowing on my legs. At this point I realize I am asleep and once again I’ve had another accident. 🥺 at this point in my life I could care less if it’s the dream or the flow that happens first. Knowing it’s a common Issue is a such a comfort to me. ❤️

I have the same issue, dreaming and wetting the bed. I have done it off and on for years. I’m 45 now and it’s almost a nightly occurrence. I have undiagnosed OAB from sleep apnea and I think I have urge incontinence too. My nightly bed wetting started about 2 weeks after I received my CPAP machine. My dreams consist of me dreaming I’m in the bathroom urinating or at work being pressured to do more work (I have a heavy work load at work). On this Friday I have my first appt with an urologist about my wetting issues. Oh yeah. At night I’ve been wearing tab, plastic back diapers to bed since the middle of February.

Correction: in “real” life you pee, then you dream that you’re peeing. Don’t believe me? See a brain neurologist or a sleep specialist.

which came first the pee or the dream?

Wow, I just found this forum. I thought that I was the only one. I was too embarrassed to talk to anyone about this, for all of my adult life, and I'm over 60. I always thought that it was my dreams causing the problem. Now I see that it could be the other way around. Sometimes I could catch myself before a big accident realizing that it's a dream, other times it would get away from me. I would be glad to hear of a solution, if anyone has one. Thanks

I dream and then I pee myself in bed. Happens all the time. I wash the sheets about 3 times a week. I just deal with it. I know it will happen every night

It probably will be in your best interest to wear some sort of protection like diapers and plastic pants to keep your bed dry. I wet the bed every night and this is what I use. Keeps me and bed dry. Many companies on the internet have what you need. They will give you samples for little or no cost, and great advice. Good luck.

ALWAYS, the pee in reality precedes the pee in the dream. I work for a brain neurologist. Most of you only have urologists, who don’t know shit about how the brain interacts with the bladder. IF YOU DREAM YOU ARE PEEING, THAT IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE *ALREADY* PEED IN “REAL” LIFE. It is never the other way around. You do not dream of peeing, then pee. Rather, you always dream of peeing after you have actually peed.

You don’t have a dreaming problem. You have a *peeing” problem. Your pee, in reality - interrupts your dreams, to pretend to you, that you’re dreaming of peeing FIRST before you pee in real life. Nothing could be further from the truth. You first pee yourself way before you dream of peeing. The physical dictates the mental.

There is zero debate about these sequences of events in the insomnia studies and the urology studies. If you’re peeing in your dreams, it’s blatantly because you’ve already pissed yourself in real, waking life. DREAMS DON’T MAKE YOU PISS, rather, PISSING IN “REAL” LIFE MAKES YOU DREAM ABOUT PISSING.
