Trying to find a solution

@Erin A physical therapist WILL help you learn how to do certain pelvic exercises called Kegels that can help you learn how to flex the pelvic muscles until you get to the bathroom. It’s not a cure, but it makes a big difference.

You wrote here asking for help. We are all trying to help you but you say “no” to everything.

Bladder training is a myth. It doesn’t work.

Let me guess, you’re a gamer?

I would hope that’s not the case, but like snow said, the tests are extremely invasive, painful and embarrassing. Even when a cause isn’t found, as most OAB sufferers can attest, they would recommend more tests and other specialists to rule things out, especially at that age. Perhaps she’s overwhelmed however snd not sure.

Unless there’s an age restriction, I am surprised no OAB meds were offered to try. Usually they go behavioral first, then drugs, then surgery for treatment.

Erin,
Is the leakage occurring suddenly after a strong, irresistible urge to urinate or is it happening without warning? You said it’s during the day and not at night. Is it a full bladder or just a small leak? are you having to get up multiple times a night to go to the bathroom? I am sure your primary care doctor and the urologist would have asked you these as well.

Everyone here is just trying to help understand what is happening to you to give the best advice as there are a myriad of different types of incontinence and a lot of different reasons for each of their different types.

I understand what you are saying and o agree I hope that's not the case but she came on here asking for help and has rejected every piece of advice offered to her

@snow. I never considered the idea that diapers liberate you. But, you are totally right. I’ve been feeling imprisoned by them, but I feel like this thought may have changed my mentality on it.

Thanks.

Hmm I don't think I'm at that point... I'm definitely still in the desperate to not need diapers forever stage. Going for the follow-up from my urodynamics test tomorrow, will let y'all know after how it was, figured I'd wait to report on the urodynamics till I have a conversation with the urologist about it.

@ExploringResources It is something I learned thanks to this forum about six years ago. It was key to me surviving the suicidal depression that becoming incontinent at age 39 put me in. Until I gained that viewpoint, I was hiding in bed. I was also legitimately physically injured, so it wasn’t just the incontinence, but it also definitely *was* the incontinence.

@DPCARE I agree Erin is likely a fetishist and not who she says she is.

@Sarah060486 It took me several years to be able to actually believe that a diaper is a tool. I definitely can’t go to sleep if I’m not wearing one. There are many people on our forum who are suffering with many things much worse than just diapers, and I really feel for them. I feel for all of us!

Hi everyone! I read all post on this subject and I like to believe this person but it seems kinda odd that she won't expect advice from all of us. I have gone through having to wear diapers early teen years and still need them today. You are right about the test they're painful and embarrassing. I had 2 uroldamics test done I have a small bladder. I couldn't get through the second one. Do to other health issues diapers are best thing for me.

@MRjw48 Well, it’s quite I retested that she entirely vanished, likely more proof that she was a troll.

Is it possible that her rejection of solutions and lack of knowledge about urodynamics testing is developmentally appropriate for a 15 year old struggling to come to terms with incontinence?

That is possible but she did come in asking for help and she did reject every piece of advice offered

I would say maybe, but her mother won't get her diapers/pads and you think her mother have some knowledge of incontinence. She should ask there Doctor for referral to uorlgoist. The person asking for a vice should give little more info.

My problem is that when I have to go I sometimes don't get to the bathroom in time. When I feel I have to go, I have to get to the bathroom in about five minutes or I start peeing and then I can't stop and I have maybe a couple more minutes to get to a bathroom or my pad will start leaking.

I do get up a couple times during the night but that's not a problem because I can get to the bathroom.

Erin why don't you get medical advice your doctor or uroloigist? Everyone her wants to help you, feel good about your self. If you are embarrassed / scared we understand and it's ok. Diapers /pads are a different kind of underwear really. You should talk to your doctors a your incontinence. Some of us have gone what you are going through now.

Erin, being that you are 15 and so don't have the power to get yourself to another doctor for a second opinion or to be able to buy protection for yourself, one thing you could try are Kegels. These won't necessarily eliminate your symptoms but they could possibly improve (reduce) them. Look on you tube for examples to try, they are exercises focused on strengthening the muscles down there.

@Sarah060486 thanks for offering a practical suggestion to Erin.
It is decades since I was 15, but I still remember the hollow hopelessness and empty despair of trying to find a way to make my parents understand that I had problems I couldn't deal with and feelings I couldn't express.
If I had found myself in Erin's situation at that age I would have desperately wanted and needed help, but I would have found every suggestion that has been offered overwhelming and impossible to consider, just as Erin has.
Frankly I find some of the hostility and lack of trust directed at the original poster troubling. It takes me right back to the dark place I was in at 15 - a place where nothing I said was believed, and nothing that was happening to me mattered.

I'm sorry for any hurt feelings, I trying to understand why her parents won't help/believe her. I've gone through wearing diapers early teens to. I get it! To this day my mom still has trouble with me wearing diapers. There are so many options out there today, talking to a friend or family member that can help her out. If Erin has a close friend or family member help her get diapers/pads. We are here for you.

I think the point of people questioning is there are now a few new threads with the same vibe. Doesn’t seem legit, and with it being a few different threads, someone is getting their rocks off on pretending they have incontinence. (Still such a bizarre concept to me).
