suprapubic catheters

My urogynecologist has said a suprpubic catheter would make sense for me. I have the opposite of incontinence--my urogenic uretha/bladder will not release "on command" and I have to cath 3x per day. Wondering if any of you have any experience with this kind of catheter.
 
NO, sounds awful. Must be nerve damage of some sort I am guessing. I hope this is something you can do whey traveling or away from the home, I would imagine if you don't void when you need to-other things can happen-not good things either.

spinal cord injury and am paraplegic. Caused by radiation. It would mean I could manage the peeing by myself most of the time.

and would eliminate a lot of anxiety!
