Self dilation after urethra stretch

I had a urethra stretch at the end of November, as when I recovered from radical prostatectomy in July I had difficulty passing urine. It was a successful operation however it has proved difficult to keep the benefit. I want to talk to my surgeon about intermittent self dilation, and would like to ask whether anyone else has done this?

I strongly advise you to not take any action "in your hands" even though you think it would help. You might do damage internally, so speak with your doctor. Just my opinion...

Mam you misunderstand me. I am seeing my surgeon Tuesday. What I want is to hear from people who have experienced this so I can persuade my surgeon. I need a plan that works.
