Pull Up Diapers or Brief Diapers

Which type of diapers do people wear most when dealing with incontinence? I normally wear Pull Up diapers day and night with the occassional brief diaper and plastic pants on weekend nights.

I wear both types. Just differing what the activities are for the day. Long trips wear briefs and just day to day pull ups.

I use a mixture. If I know that I can get to a toilet easily I will use a pull up, if I have a busy day at work or I'm away from home I will use a taped brief. I would rather be over protected than leak in public.

I use both, using pullups more for daytime use with a booster pad or guard I dont like to have to take off shoes and pants to change pullup in a public restroom. I also use an external clamping device sometimes.

Pull ups are useless for me. I only use briefs and only plastic backed. Briefs are far easier to change, last a lot longer, contain odor better, and fit me much better than any pull up ever could.

I wear a tape on diaper at all times. I have tried a number of pull-up diapers but haven’t found one that will stay in place or has enough protection to get me through to the next change. In my day to day routine I’m moving allot and I need something that will stay in place and the tape on diapers seem to do a much better job in this, there also much better on leakage control for me. I’ve recently bought Northshore supreme lite diapers and these are truly amazing!! They are very absorbent, extremely comfortable, and the plastic covering is quiet. If your looking for a great diaper to get you through, this is it!!

I wear pull ups during the day because they are a lot easier to pull off and on and you don't have to find a place to hold your diaper up against in order to try tape it on. However, I do liking using brief diapers at night.

Most of the time now I wear tena maxi slips (taped nappies) I use net fixing pants to keep them up and wear Mylesta nylon pants over them to keep any leaks or smells at bay. At night I wear tena maxis with drylife plastic pants. Sometimes I will wear pull ups or large tena extra pads with net fixing pants and inco pants over them.

Mostly tape ons for me. I do the occasional pull up at home or when traveling through TSA. The northshore supreme lite leaks on me.

I normally wear Northshore Go Supreme & Flex Supreme pull ups and the occassional Tranquility Day and Overnight pull ups. I like the fit and feel of the Tranquility's but like the absorbency of the Northshore's. I have worn both but can't decide which one works better. Northshore's are a little more bulky.

The best pull ups or tape on slips I have found in the UK are from tena. I don't know if they are as well known in the US.

The tena maxi ultima is great but very expensive and hard to get in the USA. I’ve written to Tena several times asking if they can make this available but they are hard headed fools who are pushing that cloth backed garbage.

Hi Spaz, we have a similar thing here. I get what I can from our local health service. They do supply tena, but only the cheapest which are cloth backed. If I want plastic backed I have to buy my own. I don't understand why the plastic backed ones are more expensive, maybe they cost more to make.

I haven't had any luck with briefs, probably due to inexperience and poor fit. Pull-ups work well for me, but I have light to moderate leakage.

From my understanding cloth backed cost the same or even more to produce. They have a plastic center part that has to be sprayed with glue and fabric and then have the wings glued to them.

So, if it cost the same or more to produce a cloth backed diaper but the diaper is still encased in plastic, why not save money and stay with plastic. Is it because they feel it is more friendly to diaper wearers than crinkly plastic. I don't get it.

@mhart82 It is my belief that most people prefer the cloth backed for comfort and that they're quieter. It seems that the ABDL people prefer plastic "crinkly" diapers, so they're out there.

I'm not an ABDL and I prefer plastic. That is the kind I wore as a child so I guess that is the material I associate with. While cloth might be a little quieter, I just like the feel of plastic better.

I use both types of slips depending on the situation. I've never come across plastic backed pull ups in the UK.
