plastic backed pullup

I am not ab/dl I am familiar with the ab/dl community I don't understand but I don't judge either if that's your thing great it's not mine I am diapered 24/7 as I am fully incontinent I do believe the ab/dl community has made a contribution in improving adult diapers and created some better diapers which unfortunately also commands a premium price for such products now as I am incontinent and have been wearing diapers for years and I have tried both pullups and tape on diapers and it has been my experience that all adult pullups are pure rubbish you compare the adult pullups to the toddler/youth pullups and the adult pullups are very poorly made in comparison in fact padding wise there is about the same amount if not less padding in the adult pullups as there is the youth products look at the rise of the padding in the Goodnites it goes all the way up to the waistband in the front and back when every adult pullup I have tried the padding rises only about half way up in the front and some are not even halfway p in the back I have had times wearing a pullup and wet and have it shoot right over the top of the padding and soak right through to my pants and another issue I have had i that i have never had any luck using cloth-like covered diapers I only use plastic backed diapers for various reasons which brings me to the point I know pullups have their place and I wouldn't mind using them if they were made better they need better padding with a higher rise and with all th ab/dl designs I am really surprised to see nobody has come out with a plastic backed pullup

I agree with you 100%. I think it would take a miracle for any company out there to make a plastic backing pull up style diaper. I think the demand is there but not enough voices to be heard to get the ball rolling. What would need to happen is everyone needs to email each diaper company and let them know that we want a better product and would like to see a plastic backing pull up. So, like I said at the beginning, it would take a miracle for it to happen.

I have been saying there needs to be plastic backed pull up diapers for years. Why is it so hard to retrofit current adult pull diapers and make them have a plastic backing? I wouldn't think it would be that hard but what do I know. I think a plastic backed pull up diaper would be so much better, more absorbent and just an all around more superior product. I have messaged diaper companies, like Luvs, Huggies and Pampers. Kimberly Clark (Huggies) pretty much responded saying that they would probably never make an adult version on their baby diapers. Luvs and Pampers stated they would accept the idea and while they don't have making adult versions of their baby diapers on their radar at this point, they would take the idea into consideration. I would exclusively wear a plastic backed pull diaper and feel so much more secure if they made it plastic backed.

the other problem with adult pull-ups is the rise of the padding why is it that adult pull-ups the padding only comes about 1/2 way up I have actually had leaks when I have tried the stream goes right over the padding as the padding does not come high enough they need better padding coverage as well

DPCARE, You are absolutely correct in your assessment of adult pull ups. I really don't understand all the frilly material above the padding...and not much padding. That is why I only use tape on diapers. One other plus for tape on diapers is that you don't have to completely disrobe in order to change. What's the point of having tearable side panels if you have to take your pants off to put another one on. However, if as you pointed out, the pull up would have better padding and a higher rise I might consider them.

That's so true!! Why is the padding on adult pullups so much less than baby diapers? Adults need more padding. The padding should go all the way up the back and cover the whole butt area just like a real brief diaper does.

I use to use belted pads a long time ago and they was pretty good. Not as absorbant as a tape on diaper but was more than a pullup, and they was easy to change without having the remove shoes and pants. These was plastic backed, I dont think any of them now days are plastic backed.

I agree re pullups. I found the Tena Premium Fit to be pretty decent at the front but very little coverage at the back which made them useless for IBS flare ups so switched to belted products then full nappies. I think the big practical issue with pullups is changing though, one of the reasons I switched to regular nappies is because of the ease of changing. Ultimately, I also found that just buying one product and sticking to it works cheaper in the long run.

To be honest though I've found the quality and absorbency of regular taped products to be lacking as well. I pretty much exclusively just use BetterDry and Tykables these days. Whilst they cost more I spend less in the long run because they're properly refastenable for when I do make it to the toilet and more absorbent than regular brands meaning I don't have to change immediately.

DPcare:
Have you tried the Abena Abri-Flex, Molicare Mobile, or Northshore GoSupreme premium pull-ups? Even though they are cloth backed they have a lot of padding and rise up quite high in the front and back. They even have high internal leak guards. These are MUCH better pull-ups than any store brand or even other name brand pull-ups. However when wet they tend to sag a good bit more than regular tape-on diapers and I find it important to wear something like a onesie or granny panty over them to keep them snug. All that said they are still not as good a quality tape-on diaper.

compare to the rise of those compared to a Goodnites the padding rise is only about 1/2 up on adult pull-ups where the Goodnites it's almost to the waistband

lf you look close enough you might actually find more padding in the youth products [

I've noticed some brands of pull ups e.g the ID brand the pull ups have some plastic around the leg cuffs but not the actual front or back of them.

@Sci_Fi_Fan I tried Tena pull ups once a long time ago and disliked the frilly material around the pad. It was not tight enough like a tabbed brief is and leaked on me so I concluded they are not a good pad for me.

I want to try the Tykables Camelots but find it hard to bring my head around wearing a "dragon" or whatever is printed on the front but the idea of a 7000ml product appeals to me and I wonder how they fit. I am chunky to say the least and wonder whether to get the XL or large size?

I have tried the Tykables Camelots, and find them to be great. I am 145lbs, with a 31" waist which puts me in the medium size which is right for me. Their website is disturbing if you are not adbl which I am not. However, the Camelot only has a print on the landing zone...not quite so obvious. They are expensive. They are currently out of the medium size, but I think the xl are still available. Also, they are thick. Pretty hard to hind the fact that you are wearing a diaper. I'm 73 yrs. old, and don't care much anymore if people can tell I'm diapered.

I would say, if you have the money in your budget go ahead and get the XL size. I have yet to try Tykables. Less changes for the money spent.

@laalaauk The Tena Men range isn't frilly and has better absorbency in my opinion but again, not much around the back at all so only really any good for post-void dribble really in my experience. I've pretty much given up with any pullups since my issues became worse. Plus, as noted upthread, I ended up having to use a combination of pull ups and taped products during the day due to the changing issue.

I agree re prints - Whilst they don't have the same capacity, the Cammies have a camouflage print and because they look so unlike a regular nappy I don't feel like I'm wearing one as much in spite of the bulk. The Camelots really are a superb product though - the only product I trust 100%. Leaks are a real rarity and they're the only product that will satisfactorily contain my morning leakage. I find they can be a bit on the small side, I'm a 34 waist and find the Mediums a bit smaller than other brands. The biggest selling point in my opinion is the combination of plastic backing and hook and loop tapes. If I'm having a good day then I don't have to change that much.

@Damp Yeah, the sites are weird and I wish that the regular brands would up their game. I have found with the right clothing choices they're still not crazily obvious. Weirdly, I've found the BetterDry worse for that in spite of the fact they have less capacity as they stick out at the front a fair bit.

The Tykables Cammies are good due to the print as it doesn't look too ABDL or indeed too medical. Wearing them, I don't feel as self-conscious about wearing them as I do about the BetterDry or Camelots in spite of their 6000ml capacity. However, I still found that in the morning I'd still have leaks with them.
