I have went through Hell over almost 2 years. At night peeing everywhere like a water hose while asleep. Sleeping in recliner over a year and 3 unnecessary surgeries. I was about to give up embarrassed humiliated depressed and someone said have a sleep study done so I fought to have that done last month at home. Results 66.6 episodes an hour which is severe oxygen dropping to 42% heart rate going up to 105 while asleep. Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea which CAN cause incontinence at night in some people. 2 nights in as of last night and I have woke up dry two mornings as of this morning and in shock after so long waking up soaked!!! I am down to 1.1 episode per night and praying this lasts as the nurse says it should. If you are having this only happen at night fight for a sleep study I am beyond happy with only 2 dry mornings I don’t know how to act!!!!!!

Kat1977...Click on my username and view my 1st post going back to 8 months ago. There I describe the Purewick system that my wife had just started using at the time. You can also learn about it on Youtube. It's an external female catheter system via mild suction that keeps bedding/recliner dry and one wakes up dry as the suction cannister has contained the urine. It is kind of pricey and unfortunately insurance does not cover it. However, I have devised a cleaning method/system that minimizes purchasing new catheters. They recommend one new catheter per night/sleep session. This can be hard on the pocketbook but my system allows for cleaning and reuse. I utilize a germicide/disinfectant solution (Control 3) that is made for medical products. It is pretty inexpensive. There are certain weight limits/requirements that can limit use. Hope this helps.

I have seen folks mention sleep apnea and incontinence Kat. Im not sure what you are doing but great news!

So very happy for you, Kat! And thanks for encouraging others to get/fight for a sleep study. Be safe and well, everyone.

I am using an auto cpap first two nights down and both mornings dry!!!! I have had 3 unnecessary surgeries in regards to my incontinence in a year and a half and after countless hours of research I said sleep study is my last resort I was skeptical however extremely depressed so I pray this stays positive I was having 66.6 episodes an hour with my sleep study very scary

Hi Kat,
Glad that is working for you. Mine makes all the difference in the world. Glad it helps. When you stop breathing dozens of times an hour a cpap finally gets your body the oxygen it needs and you can start getting into normal sleep patterns again. I love mine. Thanks for your post. Have a nice night🙂
