I believe my urinary incontinence problems began as a child. I would wet my pants because I was so focused on doing whatever I was doing that I would wet my pants. I wet the bed until I was in my teens. I did go a long period of time when incontinence wasn't an issue. Even after having my twins, it wasn't that big of a problem. A little leak here and there. About 10 years ago (when I was 48) I had my first sling surgery. It worked for about 2 years. Then I started seeing a urogynecologist because the incontinence was getting worse. I tried several medications - no luck. Eventually, 4 years ago I had the Inter-stim put in. It didn't really work. We replaced it with a newer, better model in December 2021 and still - major incontinence issues. I found a new urologist from the National Association of Continence website and he's ok. He said I have very tight muscles on the left side of my pelvic floor which could be the cause of the incontinence but certainly was the cause of my pelvic pain. So he sent me to see a pelvic floor therapist. I'd seen one before without any result but I thought I'd give this new therapist a try in case they had a different approach. Nope. 8 visits in and the therapist has sent a progress note to my urologist that further diagnostics need to be done. So what is he going to do? What else can be done? I go through 3-4 Depends every day and get up to pee at night 4-5 times and rarely make it to the bathroom without going so there goes another Depends. When I stand up from my desk I just gush - it's not a leak - so I head to the bathroom with my new Depends to change. Anyone have any advice on what to do next?
