Long recovery.

Sleep sucks because I always sleep on my stomach. Drainage is more than they are happy with so I have to stay.

Even waiting to hear from you.
Yes there will be adjustments.
You will adjust.

Glad you are in medical scrutiny at this critical early stage.
Get better and better

Do you have any less pain in the area where you’ve been hurting for so long? Sorry you can’t sleep well. I think hospitals provide horrible sleeping conditions with all the lights, noises, and checking up on vitals all damn night! How long do they think you’ll be there?

Glad to hear from you. Pray the recovery is speedy and that the procedure accomplished what you needed it to for your pain.

@ThatFLGuy I’m happy to hear that you’re at least getting some decent pain relief as long as you’re there, and hopefully afterward, too!

Has anyone had the surgery to put a valve and a button in your scrotum to prevent leakage. Long term incontinence sufferer.

Update. So there is a bit of pain but it was expected. My stoma is still healing so I have a follow up appointment in a few days. My ostomy specialist hocked me up with a lot of stuff but I got to order more and some samples to see what works best for me.

@snow

And I have actual pain medicine for the first time since this all started two plus years ago.

No I just have to heal up and get some rest. I am new to sleeping on my back so my couch is my best friend right now.

Another funny thing but a bit TMI. I ended up redecorating my hospital room thanks to the worst vomiting I ever have done. Nurses were supper nice to me the whole time even when that happened at 9pm. Hahaha

To you both (Snow and ThatFLGuy)- I may be able to suggest a manner that will make sleeping on your back easier: don't use a pillow. This may sound even worse, but I am a right-side sleeper and that means a lot of leaks for one thing, but it also aggravates my headaches, so I have forced myself to sleep facing up, and it makes a big difference. But only once I started sleeping without a pillow. The end result is that I am slowly getting used to it, and I sleep better as well. Hope it works for one or both of you.

@jeffswet Next time I have to sleep on my back, like post-operatively, I will surely try your pillow-less tactic; thank you for the tip!
