Just in case

@PaulTx18 For when I travel it depends on my travel plans.

If it is a short flight of only a few hours then I just wear my boxers and no pull-ups. But if if will be a longer flight of like 3.5 to 4 hours or more, or if there are multiple connections and the overall travel time is likely to be all day I tend to wear a pull-ups under my boxers just in case.

Most of the times when I do wear protection I end up not needing it. I either don't fall asleep or if I do it is for a short time or I just stay dry when sleeping. However knowing that there might be a chance that I might pee in my sleep during the travel it is comforting to know that I'm protected and no one will know that I've wet.

On one trip I ended up getting stranded at Atlanta's airport over night due to ice storms. With all the other stress of that day's travel I at least did not have to worry about peeing my pants when I fell asleep for a few hours while I waited for my rescheduled flight the next morning.

In the end I think each person needs to decide when wearing protection is best for them.

I'm 74 -- wear cloth or disposable briefs at night. Recently discovered depends nighttime for men.. I really like those. No leaks so far.

Daytime if I'm staying around the house I will usually just wear what I wore the night before if dry otherwise, a pull up or cloth incontinent briefs.

If we are going out...even something like going to the grocery store or a getting something to eat, if I leave the house, I wear protection, usually a pullup under a regular brief. It works for me.

I was a test group maybe twenty years ago for a manufacturer of incontinent products.. I think it was wearever but I'm not sure. I still got a plastic tote full of samples.

I mentioned earlier going for a prostate biopsy Wednesday. I'll post results here. I am hoping it is just a flare up of my chronic bph.

Good luck on your DR. visit. I understand what it’s like to have those chronic BPH flare ups. Fortunately, I haven’t experienced any this year. I do experience the symptoms drips leaks squirts or urge, so staying protected is a must when out and about.

My oab comes and goes. I mean the leakage does. There are some triggers like weather and life stress but it’s really hard to nail down - I’ve been fairly dry for a couple months now but have been having frequent urges lately as it cools down.

I am generally more of a risk taker. I feel way more self conscious and embarrassed about wearing a diaper than running to the restroom. When I get to the point where I absolutely can’t make it I’ll go back to diapers. Till then I’ll roll the dice. I know it may sound dumb but I just can’t get past the self consciousness.

@Newbie2this I think you must find the solution that works for you - there are pros and cons. And starting with diapers from a period with out is not easy. You are probably much more aware than those around you.

I can see some of the same triggers myself - so I can relate to your challenges.

@newbie2this Gotta be you. You know your comfort level and what your limes of comfort are. Sounds like in your situation you are doing just fine in how you manage. Keep being outgoing and positive about it.

After some near misses and some wet pants and beds I started to wear just in case - however over time I ended up using more and eventually ended up wearing and using full time - have now been back in diapers for 16 years - wearing allows me to live my life and not be tied to the toilet and always worried about having an accident - now nobody apart from me knows I have wet
