I had HOLEP done last June. I am 71, in good health, and had intermittent leakage for about 4 months. My biggest problem is not being able to feel the urge until right before I need to go. I'm usually close enough to a bathroom that I can get there before I start to leak. Also, my bladder doesn't seem to hold as much as it used to. These are side effects my doctor did not warn me about, and have been mildly disconcerting. On the positive side, I sleep through most nights without having to get up, and my stream is significantly stronger. Also my PSA went from 6.0 to .49 almost immediately. Overall, I'm glad I had the procedure done and hoping that negative side effects will continue to improve. Good luck with your process. In addition to PT aND kegels, regular walking seems to have helped me and many others.
