I am new here.

If i could undo the surgery I would. With all the advances in medicine, its a shame what men have to go through after having the prostatectomy removed. Prostate cancer surgery isn't something anyone should elect to do. YOU need to do more research if you are mostly worried about smelling bad. While I'm still incontinent a year after surgery, I'm sure i never smelled like urine.

I agree with Jim and if I could undo it I would in a heartbeat. Please explore all your options before jumping into this surgery. Best of luck.

Really static! I agree with everything you said, particularly that those of us attracted to the forum are probably self-selected due to their stress, no pun intended! But your suggestion that, “Others have a long journey and unfortunately do not really recover. The latter are in the minority though. Remember, you will read about the worst occurances on this forum.”, I strongly disagree! If you investigate other RP sights you learn that incontinence is more the rule than the exception. The fact that the thousands if not millions of afflicted guys internationally aren’t on the sight, doesn’t result in your assumption, that those who continue to suffer with increasing PSA requiring further intervention, incontinence, ED,, etc., not to mention the mental trauma, are in the minority. You may be in the lucky minority in my opinion. I mean why tell the guys here that they are the odd men out.

@Stryder I do appologise. I did not mean to indicate any disrespect to anyone and particularly none of those who are members of this forum. My words were not based on any authorative statistics and therefore they are meaningless as regard to probability. Certainly I do not think that anyone suffering is an odd man out.

It his hard to have your whole life upended with just three words. Your urologist, radiologist, oncologist all tell you that you are young, in good physical health, and this has been caught early. But it turns out you are in that 5-10% that has a “bad result”. No answer why from the doctors. I go through it all over again every six months waiting for the result of my PSA tests. I can understand why people want to offer hope and by example, their own story of success. Everyone here is here to help to ease their own situation. But it can be hard to hear that the 95% are doing great. I am so grateful for every undetectable PSA. I accept what I have to deal with and I go on. Be kind
