Hi Everyone

Hi there, : )

My name is Bryce, I was on the old forum platform and just made my new login.

I started having minor leaks, oh, probably 6-7 years ago. Since then Ive dealt with my leaks getting worse, to where I may have large accidents. I've realized multiple times there was pee trickling down my leg or wet spots on my pants when out and about. (3 times at work and totally mortified when it happened to me there.) Finally after different tests they diagnosed me with Over active bladder, Urge incontinence, Euresis, and something else I can't remember. Honestly, going through all the testing I was really hoping to get some kind of answer. All I got was a "we don't know why your body is doing this".

I tried therapy, there's no one that really does the pelvic work with men around. I tried half a dozen medications. They either made me too sick which was worse then the bladder problems or I just couldn't afford it.

Which leads me too where I'm at now. I'm a 30 y/o active adult who wears diapers! Well, I get away with bigger pads and pull ups most days. But, if I'm driving any distance, appointments or sleeping, yup, I wear a tape on diaper. It's been a journey to accept that my body needs this, and I choose to keep living my life and doing the adventurous things I love. I hope to help anyone who is also struggling with this type of thing.

Always stay positive and no matter what God made all of us special and everyone is loved.

Cheers, Bryce

Hi Bryce,

welcome back. I guess your struggle is very relatable to many of us, unfortunately. Nice last words though. Seems you are on the right path despite your troubles.

Hi Bryce!

My situation is very similar. I've always had issues with dripping and some leakage thru the day that would soak thru to my pants. Was able to get by with pads and later thick washable incontinence underwear that looked pretty much like regular underwear. A few years ago I had to switch over to tab diapers because of increasing urge incontinence and full bladder voids.

I see my urologist regularly. Have tried some different meds and had a few procedures but my IC issues persist.

OAB, uresis and urge incontinence are my issues. Initially I was pretty self conscious about wearing diapers day and night. But after a few weeks I realized it was no big deal.

I have so much more peace of mind not worrying about having visible accidents, needing to take a change of clothes everywhere I go, etc.

Anyway, it's been quite a journey but I'm managing pretty well!

It is nice to having a forum like this, since it's hard for folks who don't have these issues to understand. A number of my friends and peers have prostate issues requiring some kind of leak protection, but not the heavy incontinence I experience.

Until I heard from some other active men on forums like this with issues similar to mine I felt kind of isolated and embarrassed about needing diapers. But I'm realizing everyone's situation is different and for some of us it's the best option for managing our IC.

Hi Mountainlake622,

Thanks for sharing, I felt alone for a long time dealing with things. Seems like you have about the same problems that I do.

Feel free to message anytime, I'm always around. Happy to be a friend.

Hello Guys, I have been here a while mostly lurking and liking. I blame COVID as Nov 2020 I went to the hospital and came out in Dec. demanded to be released. Yes, I was intubated and in a COMA state for 21/2 weeks. when I was in my private room I was not allowed out of bed and due to Nurses having to put on freshly sterilized gowns to come into my room, I was wet. How I always blamed COVID Maybe 40% of my back injury from my Army days I am coming to figure out what is causing my issues. I have OAB Urge Incontinence the Doctors figure the nerves in my back are what is causing my problems. No, unless my back gets totally wrecked and I cannot sleep I will not have surgery. I have been seeing a Chiropractor for the last 6 months which has helped some of my issues with good days to days where I need to wear a diaper because I cannot get up from my chair fast enough to go potty. So, I mostly wear PULL-UPS during the day and diapers with a booster and plastic pants at night to save the bed and flood the wife out of bed. Yes, the GP offered drugs 4 years ago I said No. Life goes on and Nobody has noticed my Pull-Ups or my Diapers when wear those. I am quite active and work P/T and am a Volunteer with the American Legion and active in my church, so I am busy in this crazy world.

Bryce...did you have any degree of success with pelvic floor exercises (Kegels), at any point? It takes a couple of months for those to take effect, but they are often advocated.

Hi there,. Yeah, I tried through my local PT office, but it didn't make a huge difference. It also didn't help that most PT offices don't focus on male pelvic floor. I try to work out daily, and I always include some kind of core work out. This has deffinately helped but, it hasn't been a cure all though.
