Erection

Have any of the men on here been able to get an erection without the help of pills, pumps, shots etc after RP?

I tried everything, except implant, and nothing worked for me for erections. I self-stimulate several times a week, and that seems to have helped with blood flow. So, I can get an erection, but it's not very hard and it deflates quickly. I have adjusted my life to rely less on sexual intercourse and more on intimacy. It's not always satisfying, but I don't want to undergo another surgery for an implant. I feel my surgeon did not properly prepare me for the after effects of surgery, and I don't trust him to do another surgery on me if it is not absolutely necessary. I'm much more bothered by the incontinence. It's been almost 3 years since my RP surgery, and I still have incontinence. Nighttime incontinence is the quite bad. I have been using a clamp, which has been really good about keeping me dry while I sleep. Nevertheless, it is a bother to have to take the clamp off and put it back on in the middle of the night when I have to urinate, which is at least twice per night. Oh well, I could have worse problems, I tell myself.

I’m the same I’d never commit to any more surgery. I wasn’t prepared either as I wasn’t told anything. My surgery was 4 years ago and thankfully I don’t suffer with incontinence anymore. I had it bad for about a year. You’re right it could be a lot worse.

@JoelCairo I would advise avoiding surgery when at all possible. Incontinence doesn’t get better each time they go in. I had RP and radiation. Then I needed two more surgeries to fix structures. A pump is very effective at exercising blood flow, which is important to maintain. Do you still have orgasm with stimulation? You should not wear the clamp over night. They all stress that. It may be counter productive with healing. You should try external catheters at least overnight to sleep. I sleep 8 hours straight. No more being exhausted from disturbed sleep. Good luck!

@Klew11 Thanks, I didn't know I was not supposed to use the clamp overnight. I will look into the external catheters.
