Embarrassed to find myself here, bedwetting

Hi,

I'm Jay and well I have dealt with occasionally bedwetting for most my adult life. It only happens like once-twice a month (more often if stressed or over tired). I really do not know what to say here so er umh I'm in my early 40s now. have a caring family. And a wife that thinks it no big deal, just an issue. But I am so embarrassed eternally about it.:( Like dudes my age should not be still bedwetting. I'm ashamed for my self and family.

Anyway that's me, sorta.

Jay

Well.....unfortunately we weren't all born with perfect bladders. Most of us just diaper up and try to get on with life......I don't mean to come accros as callus in anyway.

It could always be worse. If there weren't adults with continence issues, there wouldn't be incontinence isles in every big box store in the US. I wet almost every night. I wear an incontinence product to bed and it keeps my bed dry. Life goes on.

Learning the message board, so sorry if errors. Thanks for the reply.

I bedwet a few times a month still. I should be bedwet zero at my age. Times of stress or over tired I tend to wet the bed more. It is just so embarrassing to wake up with wet boxers or boxerbriefs even if just a few times a month.

I wet every night and have for almost 15yrs.I wear diapers and pants and mattress protector but just adjusted never let it control me.

Hi Sport,

That is good advice, not let it control you.

The best thing to do is first is find a level of protection you can live with and that works for you. You said your wetting is slightly sporadic so I'd say get a mattress protector in the least. Then keep an eye on it...if it gets worse, move on to wearable protection and eventually consult a doctor.

No worries man. I'm 29 and wet every night and wear diapers for it. Trust me...taking off a wet diaper in the morning is far less stressful than endless laundry.

Thanks for the reply and info. I do have a waterproff cover on the matress and have a waterproof bed pad I sleep on most nights, judt in case.

Good the hear from others dealing with bedwetting too. Thanks.

I agree with all these responses. I know is sounds trite but the sooner you just deal with it and let it go, the better off you'll be. Added concern or feeling down accomplishing nothing, least of all stop your bedwetting.

Jaytee you started this post nine months ago. I trust you have made some adjustments. I just joined this org' and have been reading old posts. They're very informative. My two cents worth would be some cheap adult diapers and the mattress precautions you've taken. If you're dry in the morning just pitch the used but dry diaper. On the nights you are stressed or overtired, diaper up and use plastic pants too maybe. Only time will test out what you've tried.

Sometimes life throws us a curve ball. We can either slap on some protection and get on with our lives or we can strike out and let this take over our lives

I don't have any rash issues but odor yes. I do find overnight protection is best achieved by thick cloth diapers with good fitting plastic pants. Changing Times carries very good prefold diapers. I use one of those with at least 4 prefold child diapers inside which usually handles more than one wetting in my sleep. Leaks are kept to a minimum.
