Effectiveness of pelvic muscle theerapy after prostatectomy

I have some questions that I hope some of you can help me with.
1. What qualifications are needed to offer pelvic muscle therapy? Is this a specialty?
2. Is there research to show the effectiveness of this therapy?
3. When is it recommended and by whom?

My pelvic floor physiotherapist said her therapist training was 3 years after getting undergraduate degree & then 60 hours of pelvic floor specific training. Urologist recommended it (I am in a large city over 1M population so there are therapists but still a 4 week wait for appt.) I found it worthwhile.
