After retiring 5 years ago I transitioned to using cloth diapers unless travelling more than 4 hours away from home.
While working it was 2-3 disposables a day and 1-2 per night.
Living in a rural area I have tired of making multiple runs to the dump with heavy, smelly disposables 3 times+ a week.
We are fortunate to have a washer / dryer, and I generally launder the diapers on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday as a primary schedule.
As a production engineer I created & used work instructions / procedures on a daily basis.
With dementia running in the family, I put together a rather detailed instruction (Word document) that I review periodically and have revised over the last couple years based on experience.
I currently can get by with just a morning and evening change but may need to add an afternoon one as over the years I have required more absorbency during the day thus the diaper is getting too bulky to easily conceal.
At night bulkiness is not a problem for a 10-hour period of bedtime.
If anyone wants, I will post the written procedures I have created if it may help out in some way.
It is also applicable to a care giver.
Let me know if there is any interest.
