Bedwetting and Sleep Apnea

I use a cpap machine for my sleep apnea which puts me in a really deep REM sleep. I also have a severely over active bladder. I find that as a result of the deep REM sleep, I do not wake up when I have to urinate. I was never a bedwetter as a child, but now I must wear a diaper to bed every night and with rare exceptions my diaper is wet in the morning.

Curious if other people with sleep apnea are experiencing bed wetting too.

Sleep apnea is definitely correlated with sleep wetting, but usually treatment decreases wetting. Not the other way around.

I have the same problem. The doc tested me to rule out other factors. Everything came back normal. I also have OAB. Now I've been noticing before I have the urge to go during the day, I started to leak in my pants.

67 year old CPAP user. Other issues too, I was taking a diuretic for hypertension. I was taking all my medicine at night. I was hospitalized for PE. As I was reviewing my medication with the admitting nurse, she said if I was taking a diuretic at night, I'd be up all night peeing or wet the bed.

I looked at my wife and said, "well duh."

We both laughed.
