My little brother is having his surgery early tomorrow morning.

It has taken a long time for his surgeon and their team to devise a plan for this surgery.

To say how crazy this is. His type of Mal-rotation of the bowel only shows up in .2 to 1% of the population and only .2 to .5% make it to adults without surgery or being caught early on and fixed.

They even have a pediatric surgeon present on the team because he has seen more of this type of issue in kids so they want his experience.

My brother's main surgeon told him that it is only by some higher power that he is still alive today because his Mal-rotation is cutting off the blood supply to his lower bowel.

My brother is a US Army soldier and has been for 12 years. With all the things he has done his surgeon is taking this case very slowly and working with the best doctors.

I just hope and pray that everything goes perfect so he can keep doing the job he loves and serving our country.

@ThatFLGuy - Wow, that is quite a testimony given his condition. Of course he will have my thoughts and prayers. - Pam

I don’t believe in prayer but I’ll send your brother good “vibes” as you say, and good luck. If he’s made it this far, he’s already got luck on his side.

I'm joining everybody in sending good vibes and only the best thoughts and prayers for your brother along with thanks to him for serving our country. We're all thinking of you!

May God bless him. My Prayers are with him. You do not say whether it is the Army Doctors Operating or whether it is the Civilian Doctors. There are some great Military Doctors and hopefully, this is one of them. I am a Retired Army I have run across both by the sounds of what you say he has a good one. My Prayers are with him.
