It is a good thing that I check my medical record so often.

ER/ED did not call me today to tell me I have a UTI.

Called my PCP when I read the results and they are getting my PCP to call me and get me some antibiotics.

Might help explain why I was so sick.

O, and it is a staph infection uti so not good.

Yes, you definitely need antibiotics for that. And yes, a UTI can actually make you lose your mind, particularly as we age. My grandma used to get them often and she went absolutely looney when she did.

I hope you feel better soon.

Is that ever irresponsible of your medical providers! And I supposed it could have developed into something more servious, or worse, and you wouldn't have known why, and wasted time and money and worry.
This makes me realize: they tell us we can get a UTI, but I've never heard them explain what that means for the long term, how bad it can get, sometimes even the symptoms to watch for. You'd think they'd at least hand you one of those dumb pamphlets. I've never gotten one of those, anyway, and may never have seen one in the racks at the Doc's office.
Do women get a better briefing than men?

@AlasSouth I imagine women get a better briefing. I’ve had them a few times and had all my questions answered.

YES, you can absolutely die from a UTI if you don’t catch it soon enough, as with all infections. But you’d be realllllllly sick for a long time before that happened.

The moral of the story is, if you don’t feel good, go to the doctor.

I’ve had a respiratory virus since Saturday. On Monday, as soon as the testing places were available, I got a COVID test at the urgent care clinic. It was negative, which is a huge relief. I’m not thrilled at being sick again with a cough already, after six months of the *hardcore* COVID cough that just wrapped up at the end of May. Here’s hoping I feel better sooner rather than later.

I do think now is a particularly crucial time to go to a doctor as soon as one has any symptoms. In the event it’s COVID, one must know so one can quarantine and be socially responsible.

Hi @snow, Glad your test was negative and hope you get better really really soon!
Something to watch with a UTI; take care of it before the infection goes to your kidneys. You definitely don't want to mess around with a kidney infection!

Well, still no call back from any of my care team on this. I cannot go to PCP office today due to social security call this morning but I am going to call PCP as soon as that call is over and be like WTH.

Well I am on a multi-antibiotic for a week and have to up my Miralax if I get feeling bound up again. Also picked up so probiotics to help keep my gut working.

Yea guess I will see how this goes. Already was feeling a bit bound up but this UTI is staph biased so no choice but to be on Antibiotics. I will bring it up on the 21st when I see my Urologist as well.
