Waking extremely wet and leaking

Hello everyone. With the pandemic going around, my anxiety and stress levels are through the roof. I'm dealing with a few big things on my plate right now. My folks are moving which both of them are 83 years of age. My father is showing signs of dementia and my mother is having issues with mobility. In the past 15 years, she's had one of her hips replaced, and both knees. I joke with her once in a while saying she is the bionic woman. So, they are in the process of closing on there house which my niece ended up buying from them. My niece had the closing set for April 15th. Now with this virus going around, she got it changed to May 7 for safety sake. I still have a few things in the house that I need to get since I moved right after Christmas. With this social distancing and not able to show affection and be able to hug them is painful. Another thing is keeping them in the house so they don't end up getting this virus. My sister and her husband have been helping them a lot. I've been helping also when I can being that I work from home now. With all this and the pandemic going around has put tons of stress on me which is affecting my incontinence. I have been going through more diapers during the day and at night my diapers are so soaked that I wake up with a soaked mattress protector. I use Tranquility ATN diapers during the day and comfydry 24/7 at night with a booster. I've tried the ABDL diapers before. They would work great in my situation but with the price of them and my bugget right now doesn't work. I've tried talking to my health insurance to see if they would even help with half the bill I pay for diapers. They said no. I'm asking for some ideas that could help me. Thank you all for listening. Stay safe. We will get through this together.

I would seriously consider overnight cloth diapers with a booster pad along with plastic pants. Initial cost is high, but overall much cheaper. I get mine from fetware.com. Good prices and fast service. Mine are nearly 4 yrs. old and still in great shape.

I’ve used cloth & plastic pants from Kins / Babykins at night and when working from home for about 15+ years. As Artiejr says the initial cash outlay may be more, but I find them more comfortable especially in the heat and you can double up at night as needed. The cloth diapers last forever!

If you are female, I'd consider using the Purewick system from Liberator Medical. Google that term for a boatload of info. This will keep you dry at night. It's not cheap but after an initial outlay, your monthly costs will be minimal. Insurance doesn't cover it. My wife has been using it since Aug-Sept of last year. I have devised some ways to keep the costs down. I'd be happy to share that info.

Sorry to hear that you’ve been having so much anxiety lately — I’ve been in that same boat and it’s been causing my nighttime incontinence to increase. I don’t know if you’re already on anti-anxiety meds but I know those have worked really well for me. I’ve also been trying to meditate and do little things to help establish control. I have a lot of stress related to the pandemic so something I’ve been doing is limiting the time during which I watch the news or talk about it. Then if I can feel I’m stressed I try to relieve that before I go to bed.
But I’m sorry to hear about all that’s going on for you and I hope things calm down soon! That sounds like a lot.

JWT,
I can relate to what you say. The overnight disposable briefs are becoming too expensive for me. And they often leak. I'm going to give cloth diapers a try.

I’ve been using them a long time since my accident was in the late 80’s cloth diapers were about the only safe choice, 24/7! As I’ve said in an earlier post, you can’t underscore the lifestyle changes you have to go through when suddenly incontinent, traumatic to say the least...
The biggest difference is today there are a myriad of “GOOD” choices of protection available. Anyone who has dealt with this for a while will probably have a variety of products on hand to cover a number of scenarios. Rarely does one product do it all, all the time. Companies like Northshore has trial packs of different products as do many other companies.
My suggestion is just do some research then try some different things that work for you. Then when the sales hit, stock up! I usually use cloth & plastic pants at night as you can layer them up as needed. I currently use the Northshore Supremes or MegaMax for daytime and I always use a cover pant. With this set up, if it’s not convenient for a full change I can always slide a doubler or two in place until I can change.
Good luck! Happy hunting!

I also love cloth diapers. You may need two boosters to keep from leaking.

I also suggest PUL pants instead of plastic. I've had two pairs for at least 10 years and they still work fine. Plastic pants rip and must be replaced fairly often.

Look up Adult Cloth Diapers to find the best prices and quality.

Running low on supplies and money here too. Cloth seems to be the way to go around the house, though the amount of work involved is daunting.

I use a small diaper pail to store mine in until I wash them, usually 3 at a time. I line dry them for a day or two, then in the dryer to take the stiffness out. If weather permits, you can dry them outside, which will sanitize your cloth diapers. Never dry your plastic pants outside on the line. The sunlight will DESTROY your plastic pants.

sometimes it's a fit issue. So many people say confidry 24/7 are the ultimate diaper but when I've tried wearing them to bed it's like I don't even have a diaper on. I've woken up soaked. Some people think Better Dry are "ok" abut for me they're like super diapers. I wear them 24/7 and cannot honestly even remember the last time I had a leak of any kind. If I had more fluids at night than usual or had any alcohol I pop a Northshore booster in there and never leak.

I'd suggest trying a few new brands...obviously I recommend Better Dry. I'm pretty sure it's mostly a cut/fit issue that makes them so perfect for my needs. Worth trying.

I can't do cloth. I've tried. The laundry is too annoying and it's horrific trying to dry them. I'm not line drying giant cloth diapers for all my neighbors to see either. Modern disposbales are 100% up to the task, but you just need to find the right one.

You can also look to ABDL diapers. I hate everything ABDL, but they do make some insane diapers. Rearz Barnyards for instance are ridiculous in terms of capacity...but they are $$$.

I only need diapers at night, and only one, therefore I only need a few diapers. A good disposable might cost around a dollar each, while an overnight pull-on cloth diaper costs around 45.00. Expensive at first, but they can last for years. Mine are over 4 years old, and still are in good shape, only showing slight wear.

Drying in the dryer takes some time. Line drying is free, with only 5-10 minutes in the dryer to remove stiffness. Never use bounce fabric sheets, it reduces absorbency of cloth diapers tremendously.

I use a simple fold out wood rack I got off Amazon about 10 years ago. It holds 8 large cloth night diapers to let them air dry. For the really thick Kins diapers it might take two days, flipping them once to completely dry through. I then throw them in the dryer on air-fluff for about 10 minutes to soften them up. Works much faster in winter, I just position the rack under a heating duct. I put it in my home office as I never have visitors in there, it’s essentially a server room for my trading/ research work. I also leave the ceiling fan running as the servers generate quite a bit of heat. Costs nothing, and leaves no odor win, win!
