Tips for discreet diapers

So, I have a quick question. What are people’s thoughts on strategies for a guy to discreetly hide their diaper from showing through their pants and being noticed? I’ve started wearing onesies, but I’m a bit paranoid about being found with a diaper and onesie by someone like a friend, in the emergency room, or by a doctor. However, it seems practical for those of us with daily incontinence. Is it common to wear onesies with adult diapers?

We all deal with this. First is realizing that almost no one cares what you are wearing.

After that, you can work on things to hide. I use Gary wear active brief covers, a pair of fixation pants (Such as the Tena pad holder pants on Amazon), and then a pair of (Pair of thieves) boxer briefs. I then tuck my undershirt (Under Armor Sleeveless undershirt) into the boxer briefs, and that is it.

Pants are a pain for us guys to hide in. But the trick I found was to go up a size and do not buy cowboy-cut pants. You need them a bit baggy to hide the bulge.

I have only had two people find out what I wear that were non-need to know. It didn't change anything about are friendship.

I do have onesies but found that they slow me down to much when trying to reach the bathroom during a bowel emergency so I only wear then when I feel like I will be okay for the day.

Very true comment, rarely if ever does anyone identify you as having on a diaper. Now I’ve tried my overnight cloth dipers with plastic pants during the day (when I’m waiting for a shipment of my disposables to arrive). They are more noticeable, bulky, that my tape ons and it’s much easier to recognize when diapered. I don’t hide from my diaper needs but don’t broadcast it either. I let anyone that I’m sharing a room with (like hotels) and am usually surprised at the casual reactions from, ok so? To that’s ok with me. Always a muted response which just tells me no one really cares what you have on under your pants. I’m in my gym locker room at least 5 days a week and have never had anyone comment when I’m seen in a diaper. We just make much more of a thing out of it than is necessary.

First, thank you everyone for calling it what it is.....a diaper. I hate the term brief or adult undergarment. It sends the message that I should be ashamed of needing diapers.

I need to wear a diaper 24/7 so yes, I wear to work. Thankfully we can wear jeans so that hides it better than dress pants. I do wear a pair of underwear over my diaper as it cuts down on the noise. So far no one knows, but honestly I don't care if they do. I sustained this injury in combat and dare anyone to dehumanize or demoralize me or anyone who needs diapers.

Seriously, good post and comments everyone!

I have had medical professionals have no clue what I was saying when I tried calling it a brief or pad. They look at me like I am speaking another language. I am only 40 so unless they check my chart they have no reason to think that I am wearing a diaper.

I call it what it is and do not sugarcoat my needs.

The fact is that it is a diaper.

The fact is that I am also wearing PUL or what I tell the medical staff, Plastic pants.

We all have to do what is best for us and don't worry about what others think.

I starting wearing max absorbancy tab style diapers to work a few years ago. At first I was very self conscious and tried every trick I read about.

I never found onsies very practical. BUT IF you have a job where you bend and stretch a lot I see how they could help.

As someone else suggested, what works better for me is snug slightly clingy briefs or boxer briefs or compression shorts with an undershirt tucked in. Athletic shirts with a little lycra or stretch work well, almost like shape wear to conceal any extra bulge for your diaper.

Of course, sizing up your pants to accommodate the diaper is key. I wear them higher up at about the same height as my diaper.

Fortunately the untucked look is popular and I think here to stay so for business casual environments a nice quality shirt tailored to be unlocked is a great option although even on occasions when I tuck my shirt in I believe my diaper is not obvious if I'm wearing the right pants.

Good luck!

From my experiences, the fears of odor and sound as well as excess bulk have not been nearly as problematic as I feared when I started first wearing.
