TENS Electronic Stimulation

My PT specialist did not recommend them. She said she would only recommend something that was proven to be worth the expense.

The stimulators need an intact and functioning neural & muscular system surrounding the bladder & urethra in order to work. In many prostatectomies and follow up chemo the nerves can become destroyed, damaged or bruised, not to mention all the tissue removed to get the cancer out.
All a stimulator does is amplify/nullify your body’s existing signals, or overlay them with a programmed impulse. If your system has been interrupted, especially with an invasive surgery like this, your body needs to heal first. If after a appropriate period of time, it is determined you have maxed your recovery then a stim might help. There is no shortcut to healing one’s body.
Your Surgeon / Physical Therapist will know better than us,
Best of luck!
