Surgery and bowel issues

I’m having surgery on Friday. About a year ago (I think. So much has happened I am so bad with time!) I had a pain pump implanted. The catheter from the pump to where it ends up to deliver the medication ended up detaching from my spine. They said it happened because I transfer often from my wheelchair. They said they couldn’t guarantee it won’t happen again and I’m just SO tired of being sliced open (I’ve had over 40 surgeries . I opted to have it removed.

We discovered this in January and it’s taken forever to happen because I kept getting utis and infections from my suprapubic catheter and when I finally didn’t have one they found a heart issue at my pre op appointment! So I had to get clearance from a cardiologist before they would operate and that took 3 months. So I finally got cleared from then and had a second pre appointment which was good as well.

It’s an outpatient surgery so it should be pretty easy. I’ve had many surgeries with diapers but this is the first where I’ll be dealing with bowel issues. This is a whole new level of freaking out Hahahah. Urinary incontinence was a breeze. I’m sure it will be fine I will definitely tell them on my pre op screening on Wednesday.

But yeah the anxiety is real!
