Small update. Waiting for approval.

So, I think that the new medication (Lubiprostone 8 MCG Capsule) that my GI doctor is trying to put me on is freaking out of Medicaid. They are requesting information from my GI doctor before they approve it. The crazy thing is that the insurance is from the same hospital that my GI doctor works at so kind of crazy.

My medications will go from $200 for everything to a 30 day supply to $285 for just the (Lubiprostone 8 MCG Capsule).

The insurance needs records that show my diagnosis to get me on the drug as it is for IBS/IBD. Which my GI doctor is going to list what I have but wants to wait for another test, but if they do not approve it which my Gi talked to me about but then I would just have to do a phone call with her and she would add IBS/IBD to my treatment plan and then resubmit it and hope they say okay.

One thing she said is that this is going to be a test to see if that medication works and if I have the one side effect (vomiting) then we will stop it and figure out what to do.

So here is hoping I get a text tomorrow from CVS saying everything went through.

Here's hoping everything goes through just like clockwork!! But the good thing is your GI doctor wants to do her best for you and sounds like she'll bend over backward to help! It sounds like you've got an awesome teammate on your side!!!

So, I am still waiting but I have had some progress. I am still taking what I always have until they approve the new medicine or don't in which case I will have to do a phone appointment with my GI doctor. My GI doctor was really good this past visit and thought I have had issues with her in the past I think she really know how bad things have been now thanks to my physical therapist. So... I also already got a message from the colorectal doctors office to get set up for that appointment and I will call them Monday for that. Now I just have to get my anxiety under control for this test next week. My nanny and I went and got our favorite sandwiches from the Mennonite place near one of my parents properties in Washingtonville Pa. Best turkey wrap for a great price and worth the hour drive from my place so that brought my sperit up.
