Prostate Radiation

I found this thread in the archive, and I want to thank all of you who posted. My husband seems to be willing to listen to and learn from the experience of the men whom I quote from “the list” than he is to listen to anything I suggest, even when we say the same thing.

Diana:

I am glad you found it! When I was starting my research I did not find too many useful boards. Lots of articles but often time vendor driven based on the products they wanted to sell. So I figured this was a good way to journal my progress and other people could read later.

Today was second to last day of treatment. I rang the bell today because of family in town. Now we are going to celebrate Dyngus Day.

I will give more detailed update after tomorrow.

I am 30 days out from completing radiation. My PSA is now 1.43. Urologist was very happy. He almost did not tell us today after talking for 30 minutes. He said he had faith in the radiation oncologist and God. He is Hindi.

However he said I need to drink much more water to reduce my urgency. Like 8 ounces every hour all day. I should make a chart to keep track. He would prefer we all drink more water. All urine should always be clear and of course no odor. Additionally he is vegan so he does not believe in meat, milk, cheese etc. either. That is much harder. Mainly doesn’t like because of the additives to the processed food.

No drugs to prescribe snd urgency should continue to improve on its own. It has a bit already from 2-3 pull-ups per day to 1. MegaMax or pull-up at night.

He practices what he preaches. 80 years old and works harder than most urologists half his age. He personally knew Gleason when he was a resident snd Gleason had invented his scoring.

I dropped my mother-in-law off at the airport. My daughter was to arrive about same time but her flight delayed. So I went to the Radiation center (7 min away from airport) to say hi. The nurse thanked me for the bottle wine we gave her and asked how I was. I smoke her my recent low PSA and I am improving, urgency has been decreasing gradually. She mentioned that a number of patients appreciated the NorthShore samples and information that I had provided her. Mainly once they get over any embarrassment they feel better and do well with product appropriate for their needs. I am now at Dunkin Donut for a treat and use restroom. Daughter will be landing shortly.

Saturday we have a black tie wedding. My black GoSupreme should match well!
