Post void dribble management follow-up

Hi guys,

TLDR: which protection is most commonly used for the dribbles?

I made a thread on the older site a few years ago regarding post void dribbles worsening in the past few years, and looking for help on how to handle it. Milking doesn't work for me, and I can't use the medication due to another issue. I'm finally at the point where I'm looking into protection as I don't want noticeable stains on my pants when I'm at work, and was hoping for advice.

Long story short- all is medically sound, my doctor referred me to pelvic floor physiotherapy where I was diagnosed with a tight pelvic floor. However after seeing a good therapist for nearly a year, I honestly don't think anything has really changed. The therapist suggested tena pads to start managing the leaks until we resolve it. I saw my doctor again to update her on how things are going, and she agreed with the pads and also suggested diapers.

So I went to a couple medical supply stores and now have a bunch of samples: pads, pullups and diapers. I find the tena pads to be too flimsy and move around in my underwear, while the pullups have been good for night time, (I'm not a bedwetter, but I still leak if I get up to pee at night) and the diapers worked very well for when I went into the office, as I didn't have to think twice about the leaks knowing the protection was more than adequate. However I wonder if they might be overkill for what I have. That being said, I did notice that by the end of the days I wore them to work that the wetness indicator fully changed colour in the front.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks

My issues started with dribbles. No matter how long I stand, shake, milk whatever you want to call it there will be more coming. For PMD only pads should be plenty good.

At night pads sometimes get moved out of place so I started wearing threaded armor. Now I have OAB and more leaking due to BHP so I wear pullups 24/7.

You mentioned managing for work wear. I have an urge! Now that being said during the day I use McKesson Ultimate Underwear (Pull-Ups) this works very well for me as I drive and cannot stop immediately for my urges these work well for me and are not noticeable that you are wearing Pull-Ups. As for the night, I wear a good diaper with a booster. All this is not leakproof but pretty darn close. I have used this for myself for the last 6-8 months. Just a suggestion yes, it is trial and error good luck.

Thank you for the replies and the information, it's helpful to know what has worked for others.

I'm hoping this is the extent of my issues, but as it has progressed in the past couple of years it's good to know what's out there, and it definitely does seem to be a case of trial and error!

One thing I have noticed over my "later-years" (I am 80) as far as effectiveness of medication/procedures is that there is a wide range of what works for some, but not others. Even between my brother and I - you'd think it would be close, but things that work for me, don't work for him, and vice-versa. So, don't be discouraged if it takes a while to find your personal remedy. I know from experience, it can be frustrating.
