Ive been thinking of a couple folk from Great Britain havent heard from recently, just wanted to aay Hi Phil! Hi Joanne!! Sending all good wishes for your health across the pond.
While im at it, we have had a bit of someone from every place, please drop a line to let us know you are managing. I dont remember every ones name, (but thats true of me in general, Whatshisname is what i call my daughter's long term Signifigant other) )

And good to hear from the Northern Lights, jeffswet and JWH51!
Good grief, you all (i never say y'All) will think im tipsy.
No, just a day of listening to twinkle twinkle and Mary had a lamb on a childs new piano.
Just a note to say hello around the incontinent friends here.

Hi Maymay, and hello back! Sounds like that new child's piano is getting a lot of use. That child will probably grow up to have a real talent! And soon enough, s/he will move on to more complicated songs! Enjoy it while you can!

@Maymay941 thanks for saying hello, everything here is fine. I'm still working from home, which is slow as my broadband connection isn't very good. I hope that everyone across the pond are well and coping with the strange world we find ourselves in, cheers Phil

Hi @Maymay941! Thank you for asking. Had a not really nice day yesterday. Almost peed myself twice, one at work and another waiting for my food at Denny's. Now at this point I should of realized my night probably wouldn't be great as well but lately I've been tricking myself (?) into forgetting I have incontinence and went to bed without any briefs just my underpad. So yeah woke up early to clean that up.

Greetings, Maymay. Nothing has changed much for me. I have my well man's physical coming up in a few weeks, and I'm already feeling some anxiety. My doctor and his nurse know of my incontinence, and that I wear diapers so why do I always have these feelings? You would think by now it wouldn't be a big deal. The other issue I'm dealing with is heart problems. I recently had a pacemaker implanted, but so far I don't seem to notice much difference in my energy level. I see my cardiologist in a couple of weeks to address the kind of cardiomyopathy I have. Maybe he will have some answers. We dodged a major weather event the other day. Not far from us everyone was experiencing straight on winds of over 100 mph. Lots of damage. So, that's about it from me. Aging is not for sissies!

Hi @23andpee, I'm sorry to hear about your day yesterday and hope you have a much better day today!:D That's the thing about this ....thing ...we all have. You may think you don't need protection one day (or night)and you try to lighten up on it and guess what? That's the very next thing you should have had! I find that especially true when it's cooler. Summer is a little more predictable for me. But think of using protection as a bit of extra insurance. So wishing you a nice day and week!
@Damp do you live somewhere near Hurricane whatshisname? Isaias or something like that? Winds of more than 100 mph is a terrifying thought indeed! Glad you dodged a bullet on this one! Where I live in central Florida we also came out unscathed. All we had were a couple of bands of showers, not even thunder, and that was basically it! You are right, aging is not for sissies!

Hi everyone. I haven’t been on much lately. Even though I’ve been dealing with a lot. After sending my urologist a pissed off message about how I was done with catheters I have an appointment on Friday morning at 9 to get a “bladder check” and talk about my options. I was able to save some money on my diaper supply this month and I’m happy about that. I’m hoping my retention will have let up and I won’t need catheters anymore. I have a paralyzed neurogenic bladder and my bladder just fills up and releases without warning. When I had my urodynamics test I had residual urine in my bladder after I emptied. Anyway I’m just over this whole thing. After 5 and a half years I’m just over it. But it doesn’t look like it will be going away anytime soon.

Hi EJ it is frustrating, you have one of those situations that seems to require adjustments and I for one can fully empathize that sometimes it feels like all one does is cope.

Libby how is Spain for COVID restrictions? Has it affected the daily life much? Do people mask in public? I believe it is one of the few places with open borders for incoming foreign travel. You and your husband are quite the duo in another interesting country than your birth states!( I love all 3 countries )
What sort of absorbent protection is available there?

May - frustrating doesn’t even begin to describe it. And on top of it dealing with leaks. Northshore supremes with boosters sometimes leak on me in the mornings. When I’m out I’ll wear a betterdry or crinklz. I hate that crinklz works best for me. When I go to drs appointments I’ll wear plain white but other than that it’s crinklz.

EJ have you asked Northshore what is the equivalent of crinklz. I confess I dont keep tabs on the brands but I thought some here had said crinklz had a counterpart that was not noisy.

Other than that, I guess I can say that when I'm home alone especially I start my say laundering my bed stuff and then feel I am running to pee so often during the day it's all I do is pee and occasionally shower if a mishap and possibly change clothes if a small mishap leaks and being home alone its magnified that is all I seem to accomplish. On the other hand, it's better than trying to deal with mishaps with a houseful of observers as non judgemental and diplomatic as they may be.

May - betterdry is the supposed equal of crinklz but I haven’t found that to be the case. Crinklz hardly ever leaks and I’ve had leaks with betterdry. And it’s not the sound that makes me not like the crinklz it’s the pattern. It’s teddy bears. 😩
And the xl betterdry is hard to get and I’d like to keep my business with all one company. And I really like Northshore.

I guess I know my product better than I th7! I guessed betterdry!
Well you are a creative thinker ton even try crinklz so good on you.
If you are of a mind to be even more creative get a black permanent marker and draw an X over each offending bear on the crinklz so you have a pile of Punk Goth diapers in the closet andcsome thing to do while watching tv.

Hi May May. Although Spain has a lot of Covid cases we are very restricted. Masks are compulsory on all public transport, in all shops and in all public spaces including on the street. That's fine, there is no nonsense about "rights", we just get on with it to help others and ourselves.
I am a member here because of my husband x who had a robotic prostatectomy because of prostate cancer. Then he had radiation. All was well, although he should have done more kegels! But the incontinence started then got worse, and he had a sling inserted. Horrible operation and no result. The radio had damaged the tissue. But so far after 9 years he is still cancer free.
Not much choice of products in Spain or Hungary, he's on permanent Tena.
Sorry about the length of this, very best wishes!

Thank you for corresponding Libby! I'm sure you are helping your husband any way you can and this site can sometimes provide little nuggets of useful idea on the bits that help.
I guess the good thing is he is cancer free.

We recently had some cloth dish towels described that are good for added protection rolled up pads. I sometimes use wash clothes as a extra layer. This could be a backup for him. Cheers!

Hi @libbymac, I like your comment about how Covid is handled in Spain, especially how no one is screaming about their "rights" in regard to having to wear a mask. That says a whole lot right there about how things are going, versus how they're going here in the States. A really disgraceful situation if you ask me. Thing is, I don't like wearing a mask any more than the next person. But I do it to protect others, protect myself and to try to do my part to get rid of this fiasco for once and for all. We all do it for everyone's general welfare. We all need to do our part. And although I haven't interacted with your posts thus far, I am glad your husband is cancer-free after nine years. We know they say if you're cancer-free after five years that is a great sign. So enjoy each day with him as it comes. :)
