I keep getting them only on the left side. TMI warning.. sometimes I get some pus with them. I worked one out just a bit ago and it was enough to build a golf pencil. Yet another thing going wrong with me. worst thing is that it makes it hard to swallow when I get them. Going to be bringing it up to the doctor on Thursday. I know it is not their practice but they want to do a UBT Breath test so it might be worth bringing up.

Tonsil stones?? I never heard of that... Do you still have your tonsils? I had mine removed when I was 7 yrs old, so maybe that's why I've never heard of them.

Yep still got them. A tonsil stone is like a build up of stuff you get in the tonsil pocket.. Painful and a pain to deal with. It is feels like you got stuff stuck in the back of you mouth. I get them from time to time but right now it is a lot more due to meds.

I've never heard of tonsil stones, either. My tonsils were taken out when I something like three-years-old, in a hospital that was a converted two-story house. Sometimes I feel like I have "stuff stuck in the back" of my mouth, so I really sympathize with you there! I would think that having your tonsils out would be the logical solution. I was put to sleep when I had it done and stayed over one or two nights in the hospital. Nowadays it probably can be done as an outpatient and you would probably have a local anesthetic (unless they do it with propofol). Then you can probably go home.

Here's what I remember from having my tonsils removed at age 7.... Sore throat, and all the milk shakes I could drink!

For me, I saw my mom sitting and knitting something, and a glass of ice water on the bedside stand. I was thirsty and OW! Boy that hurt! And I didn't have that sore throat before!:(

A tonsillectomy would be my suggestion as well. And from reading our posts at least you know what to expect! Be careful with that first sip of water :eek:after you wake up but enjoy all of that ice cream and milk shakes!:D

I used to regularly get small tonsil stones, but I haven't had one for several years now. I never knew why they started, or why they quit, but I don't miss them. You're doing worse than mine ever were, though - you have my sympathy!

I frequently get tonsil stones, and they seam to happen more when I eat cheese or pasta. I switched to a salt based toothpaste and that seams to break them up enough to pick them out with my tongue. I also bought a set of dental tweezers which are about 8 inches long give or take.

I get them just before getting sick. I always know a cold is coming on. I use a q tip and a dental syringe full of warm saline to flush them out. Some people get ones as large as marbles! Image waking up to chewing on one of those bad boys!

I till have mine. Never had an issue with them thankfully. What people are describing here sounds uncomfortable. I hope my stay healthy.
