Hello everyone. Im not actually new here just havent spoken to anyone before. Well my Name is Tori and so far ive been reading the topics and comments and so far you are all so understanding and supportive. I ve been bedwetting since i can remember and from what i understand my uncle was a bedwetter and didnt stop at a young age.( Dunno if he still does or if its a gene thing dont know if thats possible though) im currently 20 and i always have an issue going over to my boyfriends house and not being able to be comfortable. Then it came out one night when he woke me up one night and i realized I've wet the bed i felt like disappearing. He actually didnt say anything and brought out another pair of blanket and we slept on the sofa. He is super supportive but i still dont feel comfortable. I dont wanna talk too much and it feels like im already talking too much. I dont mind talking to anyone. Please it would really help..

bedwetting and incontinence can be Embarrassing and a challenge but with proper management and good quality protection it can make it less embarrassing and more liveable and having others who are supportive and understanding is a huge help I am happy to hear that your boyfriend is understanding and I am happy you spoke up to join the conversation

Thank you so much .. Just that I get scared at one point everyone who is supportive right would just pack up and leave. My mom doesn't know I still bedwet. I hide it.

Hi Tori,
It can be unnerving when we have accidents. I am so glad your BF is understanding. I think from people I have dates in my lifetime most are. We can’t choose how our bodies behave with some things like accidents. But we can get sound advice from others, be prepared just in case and not let what kind of underwear we have to wear define who we are as human beings. Nice to hear from you. My name is Jim and my honey and I live in Maryland. I’m in my 50s and played the loosing end of bed wetting and daytime bladder issues my whole life. Everyone here and NAFC, Simon Foundation and Northshore among other places have helped me over the years. Just know it’s a really common thing just people don’t really talk about it much. Hope you have a great upcoming week. You aren’t alone😊

that would be a real challenge keeping bedwetting hidden from others in the same house especially when you're talking urine odors,urine-soaked sheets, and mattress urine-soaked clothes unless you're wearing diapers or other protection or you're doing a lot of laundry there are many telltale signs with bedwetting how are you successfully keeping it hidden?

Thanks so much for the warm welcome Jim!!!..
Actually I avoid my bed whenever I'm at home. I have my own room so I already understand my body that I do it once a night. Once it's done it won't come the second time that night. So I lay on the floor after I bedwet I clean up the place and enjoy the rest of my night on my bed. My family had knowledge that I bedwet and they think I have stopped already and I want to keep it that way. Sometimes they are not supportive at all.
Then I have my own apartment when I go to the university. I don't have a roommate and I intend to keep it that way till I graduate. So far the plan's going great.

Sounds like a workable solution for now. I understand the non supportive part too unfortunately. Have you checked with your primary care doctor to see if there is a medicine you can take to help minimize the wetting? I heard a couple are out there. Thought it may be worth looking to. Anyone else had any experience with meds to help?

I highly agree with jrpoorman you should talk to your doctor about your bedwetting just to make sure it's not a symptom of other health issues and as jrpoorman there might be a medication to help you

Have you thought of using a protective pad on top of the bedsheet and/or protective underwear? Reusable ones can become laundry; disposables can be put into a plastic bag and go out with the regular garbage.

Hi tori,

Just so you know, bedwetting is strongly genetic, and about twice as common in males as females. I also have a (great) Uncle that wet the bed until a later age, or maybe always.

I'm glad your boyfriend is supportive.

Well written Diana and msuspartan. We got one of the waterproof mattress covers that are made of PUL material. It’s breathable and allot cooler than the older kind. I also found the Garywear pants are made out of the same PUL material and a great coverup over a diaper/pull-up/nappy....whatever we individually call them.
Have a great day everyone! Be Blessed and be a Blessing to someone else this week!

Hugs,
Jim in MD
