Molicare diapers

Hi does anyone else use these diapers for urinary incontinence. ? For the past five years I have been using Tena slip maxi for my incontinence . Yes I get Very embarrassed wearing them but I would be stuck indoors without them, I have found them to be comfortable to wear and do absorb a lot of urine.
But this afternoon I get a text off my Continence advisor that in a few months time I will be switched to Molicare Premium diapers.😒 I can only think that this is a cost cutting thing by the NHS .Of course I can always stick with the Tena if I pay for them myself. So that's about five a day seven days a week, so that's about 140 a month at least seven packs . I can't afford that.
Anyone else on this site used Molicare diapers to manage their wetting.? I have looked online and the absorbtion capacity is not like my favourite Tena Slip maxi 😒 Sorry to be a moaner but...... before the Tena i used Abena they contained frequent wettings but the tapes where poor . Just done a quick calculation and seven packs of Tena diapers will cost me approx £170 a month. That is off a mail order company specialising in the sale of incontinence products.

I used them when I first had my accident in 2015 and liked them. But from what I can tell they changed quite a bit and not for the better.

Sorry they changed your brand. That’s the worst when you find something that works for you and they up and change it to something worse!

I am going to speak with my Continence advisor to see if I can get the decsion to change my incontinence protection overturned . Waste of time I expect but will try my best With the Tena slips I have very few leaks , comfortable to wear , and very discreet under everyday clothing. Ps speaking with the incontinence clinic is very stressful for me, so not expecting miracles.

Dude spamming is annoying.
justeg, he is not spamming....my husband uses this new product instead of diapers and he is so much happier because they are very discreet and comfortable to wear...Try researching before you post something negative....we are all here to help each other

Sorry I just saw him post about the exact same product on a crap load of threads and the format is really close to what people use to spam.

Sorry for the negative response.

I tried doing a google search on this and absolutely nothing came up except for the one website. Is there any more info on this?

Hi , further to the NHS changing my incontinence protection , if anyone is interested I'll tell you what's happened.
My Tena Maxi slip diapers which I've been using very well for a good five years have been changed to Molicare. Unfortunatley I would have to describe myself as a very heavy wetter.☹️ ,During the last fortnight i have added a booster pad to increase the amount of urine they can absorb, but unfortunately still not up to the level of the Tena Maxi . So I'm changing more often rather than risking any leaks, the fewer people that know about my incontinence the better. However overnight when I'm unable to change my diaper more often I find I have that more leaks than ever I did with the tried and tested Tena's , even with a booster pad. Why can't they leave things alone ? If it isn't broke don't fix it.
My sleep is being disturbed with this inferior product. The other night I was woken during the night by a leak ,urine was trickling down my leg , not good. Overnight leaks very rarely , if ever are a problem with the Tena Maxi slips. I just wake up natually and change a wet Tena diaper , but with all the urine contained in the diaper not leaking out.So now I have decided to purchase Tena Slips and keep them for use overnight when my incontinence is at it's heaviest . The only thing in favor of the Molicare diapers is that they are very discreet to use during the day, but I need waterproof protection that I can have confidence during the day and wont leak after a couple wettings . The Molicare are not really suitable for my level of incontinence. My continence advisor knows all about my bladder function ( in my case just about none 🙄 ) so why they have downgraded my protection is beyond me, unless for financial reasons. So I'm afraid I will not be using the Molicare with any great confidence, changing more often than I really need to and I will be wearing a Tena Maxi overnight . I know from the past five years or so should have a sound night's sleep without the worry of leaks .
Thanks again for reading this long rant from me here in the UK.

This morning I broke a record. My LivDry well it should be called LivWet contained 1,600 ML of urine. Naturally it was completely soaked through. So soaked that urine droplets fell on the floor. I have been dealing with this on an almost daily basis. Probably should wear a plastic pants over the diaper. I'm still in rehab from dislocated shoulder. I think I can get to my urologist in mid December for my TURP but realistically how much is that going to stop the incontinence. I would be thrilled if I could get it down to 500 ML while I'm sleeping. I'm convinced no one is generating as much urine when I sleep. Combination of diuretics for hypertension, Jardiance, Silodosin, Tadalifil is ridding my body of all fluids. It keeps my BP close to normal and my A1C at 7 but unless I want to give up carbs completely the drugs will have my body create urine to maintain a normal BG number.
