I am Joy Bernards, age 39 with two kids. I suddenly observed that i once in a while bedwet in the night and this happens when am dreaming. In dream, suddenly starts peeing only to wake up and see myself wetting the bed, i then finish up the rest in the restroom and clean up but stay up thinking wat coukd go wrong. I feel relaxed knowing am not alone in this and open to suggestions from this forum on what could help. Thanks all

The constant refrain on here is to get checked by doctor and/or get a referral to Urologist. Mine didn't find anything "wrong", and maybe he didn't fix anything, but it was a relief. Having had cancer twice, nice to know it wasn't the third time. If the issue is no or inadequate Insurance, check with doctor or finance office at hospital to see if help or payment plans available. There are drugs and surgery that can help, and devices, and products.
This is a great site. Advice on the worth of procedures, on drugs, on products from pads to diapers to bed-products. To mental help (I don't think much of Doctors who say it's all in your head, but that's my prejudice. Haven't seen much on products like CBD - haven't had occasions to look. Alcohol can be a problem, not sure about (if legal in your state) pot.
What works for one doesn't always work for someone else, so keep looking/trying. Good Luck.

Hi! It is my understanding that we dream all throughout sleep. It used to be thought that we only dreamed during REM sleep. I doubt your dreams have anything to do with the issue, you just wake up because you're wet and then notice you're dreaming.

Also don't be surprised if your dreams on these occasions are toileting related as our environment/body also affect our dreams.

See a doc & good luck.

Hi Joy and welcome to the group. We are close to the same age. I an about to turn 38..my age was/is a huge player in my psychological battle with this..I found this group and its been helpful, it really has. Talking to other ppl dealing with the same issues as me has helped more than I ever could have thought..
Have you seen a doctor, or plan to?

I’m almost twice your age but experienced the dreams that I’m peeing most of my life. Used to sleep so soundly that I woke up wet. For last thirty-forty years my brain knows if I’m dreaming about peeing I have to get up and go. Hopefully you can reach that point. Good luck.

@Bernards
Hi, the famous 'Pee Dream'. As a bedwetter I have had my fair share of pee dreams. And I have no idea if the dream triggers my wetting or if my wetting triggers the dream. I suspect that I have already bedwetted and the feeling of my wet boxers on my body trigger a pee related dream. But since I am asleep I never know.

Not much help, I know, but know that you are not alone.

Hello, I am just about to turn 55 next month. I will try to keep this short, After having a baby in 1998 I tore completely and had to have external sphincter muscle reconstructed in 1999. 2013 I started having bladder issues I ended up having a prolapsed bladder. After that surgery I still had leakage. So April 2014 I had a sling to help with leakage. Well after that surgery I couldn’t goat all without having to use a catheter to empty my bladder. After having difficulty they had to go in again and loosen the sling. I was on the border line either not go or leak. So, fast forward to now the reconstruction is starting to not work because I am having bladder/fecal incontinance. I have tried diet change, didn’t work, I have tried physical therapy and it is slow going it just seems to be getting worse. I watch what I do on a daily basis. When I travel out of town I wait to get where I’m going before I eat for fear of having an accident. Because I have been there on many occasions. This is life altering. It is affecting my sex life because I hurt. I need help. I’m in the process of lining up to get the Sacral Neuromodulation implanted in the next few months. How does this procedure feel? I’m a little nervous. How long are you really out of work? Does it work? I am also, I believe, suffering interstitial cystitis yes I have diagnosed myself I know my body and know this is what is going on. I understand that this procedure will help with IC. Hearing from others will be helpful and thank you in advance for being brave to be honest about this condition if we kept quiet we would never get help.
