Incontinence associated dermatitis products

I've been struggling with skin rash lately because of an increase in incontinence episodes. I've already upped the products I use, but I was wondering what you guys recommend for the dermatitis (healing, but especially prevention wise) and why.
I've been seeing a lot of this 'three steps' approach (cleaning, moisturizing, protecting). Seems a bit time intensive, are there any good like 'all in one' products? Any experiences with zinc based products or dimethicone ones?

Thanks!

@IncoMan45 welcome to the forum. I use a zinc oxide cream when I get sore spots. The rest of the time I use a moisturizer cream.

Zinc barrier creams work for me. Realize that there are 2 main off the shelf levels. 13% zinc (for daily use) and 40% zinc (for red and irritated skin). Keep in mind that these products tend to break down absorbent products, esp., where the elastics are. So you’ll need to use powder over the cream.

Also, there are multiple types of skin irritations resulting from incontinence. For instance it could also be a yeast infection, which needs to be treated differently. You’ll have better luck researching this if you search for “types of diaper rash.”
Even long distance runners get “diaper rash” which is different than “jock itch” another fungal infection. Fun fact: athletes sometimes use zinc barrier creams where their clothing comes into close and frequent contact with skin.
P.S. don’t ask me how I know, but if you wondered if guys can get a yeast infection, the answer is yes.
Wishing you well!

I use Desitin max strength but only when I have diaper rash already. Couple of days and it clears up. Purchased in pretty much any drug store, walmart etc. I usually find it in the baby section.
Things I do to try to avoid diaper rash. Baby powder (I use starch based not talc) with every change. I tend to be pretty liberal with it and apply to the inside of the diaper I do not apply it to my body. I also try to use wipes at every change. Sometimes this is not possible but I try.
I believe using the wipes and powder do 2 things. 1 help to clean and keep dry and 2 helps with odors.

You might try "Columbia Antiseptic Powder" for athlete's foot and Jock Itch. Not easy to find, anymore. I found it at CVS in the past - mail order, had to use telephone order.
We used to use it instead of straight talc, for baby powder. Active ingredients: Carbolic acid and Zinc Oxide. The fact that it has Boric Acid doesn't hurt. I haven't found another with those ingredients.
They have a Veterinary one - not sure what's different - but we did use it on the dog after her operation when her skin was shaved bare.
To the best of my knowledge, it isn't one of the ones contaminated by asbestos.
Maybe use that over one of the zinc ointments?
www.columbiapowder.com may list where it is available, but take the list with a grain of salt.

I use Clotrimazole 1% Topical Cream and Clindamycin Ph 1% Solution which clears up my rashes in 24-hours. You just need to air hour for 5-10 minutes (I use a chuck pad just in case) after application.
