Hello,

I received a PM today about a new product for incontinence. the message was a bit cryptic. (the text appeared when i selected it in my regular email). i don’t know if it is safe to open. Has anyone recieved it and opened it? Does anyone know if it is a safe legitimate message? Hoping someone knows the answer and lets me know. thanks.

Hi there! The message was from me, but technically, it was sent through the forum/board so it should have been from NAHC. I am the CEO of a (relatively) new incontinence company and I joined the forum a few days ago to get a better understanding of what individuals were talking about so that, admittedly, we could address their needs correctly when we put an effort into marketing directly to consumers (we are focused primarily on hospitals and long term care facilities now). I did not want to violate any forum rules about commercialism/talking of our product directly as these are support forums, not advertising forums.

As I read through the threads, there were some individuals who spoke of a need for a solution to their issue, or voiced a complaint another another solution. After seeing a few of these, I felt moved enough to PM them directly and let them know that our new product *may* be of help to them. I just didn't want to do this publicly as I did not want to use this forum as an advertisement billboard.I just checked my sent messages, and I sent 6 PM's to the six individuals I thought might benefit.

In the PM I put my company and full name, I'm hesitant to do so here as again I don't want to treat these forums in a commercial sense.

Respectfully,
Nicolas

Hey guys, I'll pm each of you.

I genuinely don't want to come off as astroturfing and I'm extremely sensitive of getting someone excited for something that may not be applicable to them, hence why I had initially pm'ed people directly when I thought their conditions might be helped by what we do.

So to put it out there, we have a new type of urinary absorbant product for men, like a hybrid between a brief, a shield and a texas/condom cath. Which our product replaces both. It's not for everyone - it cant address urinary retention like a foley or intermittent cath can, it can't be a total replacement to a brief if you want to go golfing, and if you have a high pressure stream when voiding, you have to take additional steps/precautions.

I'll leave my explanation like that in this post and if you feel you still fit the profile, let me know and I can send you more information (as logn as this process isn't violating forum norms). I genuinely feel a bit uncomfortable pitching us here so I will post some information about us in a second post so that if it does violate forum norms, lets censor that post and not this one. Thanks for understanding my , well, not knowing how to go forward...I really was just in research mode!

Our product is the QuickChange wrap.

We basically fold around the penis. They hold 500ccs dry to the touch (the average void is 250-400ccs according to Continence.nz).

We just got CMS (Centers For Medicare and Medicaid Services) recognition last year and got our own reimbursement code, T4545 (CMS called it a Penile Wrap), but at the moment, only S. Dakota is reimbursing. I've got applications into NY and TX and FL.

You can find more information here: https://quickchange.com

I have received an email from Nicolas through the forum. I visited the web site and watched the video. I see no security issues with either the email or website, and am curious about the product. It may offer very discreet protection but limited absorbency. The web site is worth visiting.

@UIM Hi sorry about all the fuss. i just tend to get all suspicious when its not necessarily necessary.

i also feel a little stupid because i received an earlier email for the same thing but did not connect the two. it does look interesting to me. i’d like to see how they work.

thanks for the info and sorry about going all crazy about it.

Thanks Jason.

If this is something that any of you think would be of benefit to you, PM me and I will get you a sample pack free of the normal shipping charge.

For those that are curious - we charge $5 for shipping as we got put onto two mailing lists of "free sample" items/mailing groups and within 3 days of each listing, got slammed with over 2,000 requests for free sample packs. Which for us, would would have taken weeks to process and ship, and cost us ~15k in shipping fees.

We looked into the requests and determined almost none of them even knew what our wraps did/were and they were simply (and blindly) filling out the online form as directed by the mailing list. By putting a $5 charge for shipping (and offering $10 voucher off their first order if they end up buying product) we only get people that are genuinely interested in the wraps...

After questioning Nicolas about this product, I’ve decided it may not work for me. As he explained, this is an absorbent pad that wraps around your penis. For active men, it may not stay in place.

In the past, I’ve experimented on my own by using a booster pad to wrap my penis while wearing an adult diaper, thinking this might increase the absorbency. It didn’t work. Booster pads are best when fastened to the diaper as intended.

I had met you at the Ohio healthcare
Conference sometime ago and received some samples. I did try these which don’t like to admit I think will work for the people who are very small down in that area. It worked pretty well for myself while watching tv one day and another time being out and running some errands around town. It is worth you guys giving them a try.

I should clarify the running around town was when I was sitting in truck, Drive throughs etc. not being very mobile walking around.

I don't think these will work for me. I couldn't get them to stay in place at all. When I started this thread I had received a pm in response to an earlier post of mine in search of a small pad to manage leaking as I rush to the bathroom from bed. I never leak in a horizontal position, but once standing it could just drip or gush. I've decided to just use my pullups which may be a bit costly but does the trick. After a few trips over night they get fairly well used anyway. Sad to say my anatomy is not suitable to being wrapped and just starting to stand the wrapping pad falls right off. Perhaps if the pad had a draw string or glue!!!!! (JK). I just need to get to the bathroom safely and not have to go back and wipe up the trail. So still searching for that elusive small pad.
